I have written some code to get the data from a number of text boxes all named in the style txb_[column name]
I want to write this data to a datatable.
The text boxes were initially filled using a row 'aIndex' from the datatable, then the user can edit the data.
When this code runs, the text boxes all revert to their initial values, regardless of any changes made to their contents during runtime.[code]...
So I am trying to code a cancel button that when it is clicked, will revert the changes made to the form and then close it. One idea that I had was on the form load event declare variables to store original values. However since that would involve declaring them as global, I did not want to go that route. With that said my question is: What is the best way to revert changes to a form without having to declare a bunch of global variables. Since i was storing all these form's control values into My.Settings, all I needed to do was use

I have two files. My form and a module with helper functions and the definition for a structure. For some reason, when I call finish_up, which should calculate how much freespace a disk has, the values just revert to their original bytes value. However, if I put a msgbox inside the function, the correct information is displayed. Just not once it goes back to the form.

The finish_up sub should go through each diskdata structure, find if it isready, calculate freespace and size down to their proper amounts and then just send it back. I don't understand where the problem is.
I have unformatted text in my SQL 2005 database. I'm pulling it into a masked edit text box with a (999)999-9999 mask.Unfortunately, when I attempt to save the data back it doesn't work because I don't know how to get the 'masked' information back to the 'unmasked' raw data that the database wants.

The web browser control navigates to a local website and automatically logs in for the end user. Once logged on - there is a search page which contains a combo box and list box. I am trying to set specific values for the combo box and list boxes.For example - the combo box on the website is titled: cbxDate and contains the following values: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month.
A list box titled: lstArea contains the following values: Zone A, Zone B, Zone C, All.I am trying to figure out if there is a way through code to select, in this example, "Yesterday" in the cbxDate and "Zone B" in the lstArea on the webpage.If anyone knows of a solution, please feel free to let me know. I am trying to follow the book 'Sams teach yourself VB 2008'. It was going well until the end of hour 4. For exercise 1 I have created the form with a button and two text boxes, but cannot work out the code I need to move text between the two boxes. View 1 RepliesUsing Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2008, I have created a Windows form with multiple tabs and questions. Each question has an associated drop-down listbox that the user will eventually click on to enter his or her response. My client has now informed me that she wants to change the standard responses in each response box. There are well over 100 drop-down listboxes, all with the same items, and they all must be changed.
I originally inputted the items using design view. Would someone please tell me if it's possible to edit all of these boxes in the design view simultaneously? When I control + click on more than one box, the Edit Items option that is normally available disappears. Is there a way to do it in code in a manner that would save back into design view?

I don't know if you can tell what I am trying to do here, so I will try to explain. I what to create for random numbers and place them into for different text boxes. I also would like to do this with combo boxes and their selected indexes. So if the combo box has 10 items in it; the new selected index would be the random number generated above.
I'm in the middle of creating an application that will be used to input customer information whilst the customer is speaking to someone over the phone. This involves the customer giving the employee information such as name, address, postcode etc and the employee inputting that information into text boxes and combo boxes that are in the application.
What I would like to be able to do is after the customers information is given over the phone, I need to be able to send that information to a database which will probably most likely be done by button click. In this case, I'm using Microsoft Access. I'm also hoping that I can do this within Visual Basic coding.
The database is set out with multiple tables which include a customer table and a ticket table and both have multiple fields such as first name, surname in the customers table. Both of these tables are in use with the information that the customer gives over the phone.

Im trying to make a program that allows the user to view additional information via moving the cursor over the label to view (make visble) additional information, in the form of text boxes and/or picture boxes. How will i go about doing this?

I am loading a listbox with lines from a txt file. Now I would like to be able to edit values within that listbox by going there with the mouse cursor and type a new value..
E.g. the listbox displays:

After editing it looks like:

After pressing an "accept button" those values should then be written back to the txt file.
I need to check the size of textboxes in a webpage. I have already written the function which retrieves the maximum size of textbox and which writes the html codes of the webpage in a textfile. suppose i have these lines in my textfile:

How can i change the size of all textboxes to 50 (the maximum size) in the textfile itself?
I programmatically edit my datagridview cell values. I use the vertical scrollbar to find the row I want to edit, select the row then click an edit button that takes me to another form where changes to the record are made. I then click a button which saves the changes and returns me to the datagridview form. No problems here.
When I return to the grid, the records are displayed with the first record at the top of the grid. That is, the vertical scroll bar has repositioned itself to the very top.
Is it possible for the datagridview to "remember" the position of the vertical scroll bar so that when I am returned to the grid, the rows displayed are the same as when I left?
