Im extremely new to programming. Im trying to determine how to get values from 6 different text boxes put them into an Array. They are in a function not on the form. Three of those values need to be used for calculation.

Is there a way to compare values in text boxes?
For example, if I have two text boxes, I want to compare the numbers in each to see which is higher and then commit actions if one if higher.
I have written some code to get the data from a number of text boxes all named in the style txb_[column name]
I want to write this data to a datatable.
The text boxes were initially filled using a row 'aIndex' from the datatable, then the user can edit the data.
When this code runs, the text boxes all revert to their initial values, regardless of any changes made to their contents during runtime.[code]...
Im attempting to loop through all the text boxes inside of a group box, and add the text into a list box to later be written to a text file. Here is the code I am using.

Now instead of locating only the text boxes, apparently it is still trying to identify the labels as text boxes, because I am getting this error:Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.Label' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.GroupBox'.
I'm trying to make a crossword puzzle. I wanna use textboxes as the cells in the puzzle. I'm also using MySQL as the source for the puzzle data. Form1 has 2 public string variables defined and initialized to "" (an empty string).Form2 has 2 text boxes and a button. When the button is clicked the public variables on Form1 get set to the values in the text boxes.This works fine.I recently had to add a module to my project so that I could use Main as the startup item. The web browser control navigates to a local website and automatically logs in for the end user. Once logged on - there is a search page which contains a combo box and list box. I am trying to set specific values for the combo box and list boxes.For example - the combo box on the website is titled: cbxDate and contains the following values: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month.
A list box titled: lstArea contains the following values: Zone A, Zone B, Zone C, All.I am trying to figure out if there is a way through code to select, in this example, "Yesterday" in the cbxDate and "Zone B" in the lstArea on the webpage.If anyone knows of a solution, please feel free to let me know. I need to bind a textblock.text property to a single element in an observable collection, or array element, and have the text update using the INotifyPropertyChanged or INotifyCollectionChanged, whichever is best.
Most examples describe ways to bind listboxes or other list views to entire collections, but my application needs to update several textblocks on a screen depending on notification of a change in one or more elements of an array.
textblock1.Text = MyArray(0)...
textblock2.Text = MyArray(1)...
textblock3.Text = MyArray(2)...
textblock4.Text = MyArray(3)...
Is it possible to bind a single textblock to a single array element? Is it possible to get notification of the proper type that will update one or more of the textblocks if any assigned element changes?
I made a form with text boxes in a 6x6 square pattern. It will do a streamreader from a text file a number that indicates the size of the array. Then fill in the boxes with the numbers of the array. Then it will calculate the rows and columns to see if they add up to a single answer. Then it will display to an output window if it is a magic square or not. Meaning if all rows and columns add up to a single number its magic. If they dont add up to the same number then its not magic. Then it will repeat this check and output from the information of the other arrays from the text file.
I know how to code for the streamreader and get it to add the rows and columns. Im not sure about what code I need so it can check the answer if its magic or not and repeat it till the end.

I have 81 text boxes on a form and would like to create a text array in code that will equate to these boxes on the form. Once I've assigned each text box from the form to the array entry, I'd just like to work with the array - then have the actual text boxes on the form reflect the changes made to the array.

I am trying to follow the book 'Sams teach yourself VB 2008'. It was going well until the end of hour 4. For exercise 1 I have created the form with a button and two text boxes, but cannot work out the code I need to move text between the two boxes. When a new user enters his user name & password, I want to add these on a data table that has two columns: User, Pass. in order to create fancy custom end caps on the ends of a line, a structure like the following can be used:

I can see splitting these values into an integer array but how would these in turn be placed in a point array of whatever size is defined by the text values so they can be converted to end points of a line that is developed as values are changed in the text box.

I don't know if you can tell what I am trying to do here, so I will try to explain. I what to create for random numbers and place them into for different text boxes. I also would like to do this with combo boxes and their selected indexes. So if the combo box has 10 items in it; the new selected index would be the random number generated above.
