I having a problem converting a string into the date format I need. An example of the string I'm trying to convert would be 215056081909. I would like to convert that string into 08/19/09 21:50:56.The code listed below is what I'm trying to use for the conversion process. When I run the code I'm getting the error below and I'm pretty sure it's because my string has the time portion in military (24 hour) time.

I am located in the NorthEast US. My problem is properly storing a string in European date format (today is 23/1/2012).
For example the string '12/1/2012' is stored as as December 1, 2012 not January 12, 2012.

The dates that are stored in the datatable column is in this format "yyyymmdd". I tried to use XmlConvert.ToDateTime but I get a warning about the method being obsolete and I'm not sure what serialization mode I should use. How would I format the date from the datatable to MM/dd/yyyy and write to an XML file?

I'm developing a VB Web Application in .NET3.5 using Visual Studio 2008. I'm having difficulty in validating some XML as a string before I add it to a HTML form to post to a 3rd party. I have an XML schema file from the 3rd party to validate against and at this point I'd like the application to perform the validation before each post.
After searching I've found references to a XmlValidatingReader but this is obsolete and I'm having difficulty finding another way to do it.
