The below code is not working as expected. each row has 5 items. When the user drags to right in the first row, It is giving the TargetIndex as 5. It is giving the same value for targetindex, when the user drags the item in 2nd row to left end.

I want to write a vb program to allow user to draw rectangle. User can click on a point as starting position and drag on the screen. A rectangle is drawn with the current mouse position and the starting position. The user then release the mouse as end position. When the rectangle is drawn, user can resize the rectangle by drag the border of the rectangle.
View 2 RepliesI have a usercontrol that contains a datagridview and a toolstrip. When creating a windows form that contains 2 of the mentioned usercontrol i gate for example c1 and c2 where both contains for sure the datagridview and the toolstrip hving the same control name for example G and t. in my case i want to apply the security on each form, i do this by reading the access of each control inside the windows form and if the control on the form was a user control then i dont consider it as one entity instead but as a grid alone and a toolstrip alone in order to be able to apply its security accordingly. but in ma case, if i want to disable the first grid and enable the 2nd i wont be able to do so since both grids have the same name. is there any solution for the above.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to change the background color of a node that is being hovered over while the user is dragging items from a list box.I've gotten both functions to work separately, but while the user is dragging, the NodeMouseHover event does not fire. Is there a way to do both?

Note: CanMove() is a function I made that verifies the dragged data. Nothing else. And I will change "Color.Blue" to a system color later.
the user has the option of dragging several pictureboxes around the form. when he lets go of the mouse, the picturebox will take on a new position on the form.
i would like to implement the following:
on mouseup, if the picturebox position is within some amount maybe 50 or 100 (i dont know what units VB.net) uses, i would like it to be dropped exactly in a defined position. sort of like if you play checkers on yahoo games, you dont have to place the piece exactly on the square only approximately.
Been a while since i've bothered you gentlemen with my questions, but im back! So, I want to know, how I would be able to drag a picturebox around a form, liek a drag and drop functionality, but I dont want to move folders. Just move it around the form.

View 2 RepliesI have made a borderless form, but i still wish to be able to drag it around the screen.
But i dont have a normal background, ive got an image that covers it. I wish to be able to drag this overlaying image around the screen. Ive found code examples that allow you to drag the form, but you have to acctually drag the form.... Not the image (i couldn't adapt any of them)
Whenever I setup a database connection, and then drag items from it onto my forms, I get errors! 102 of them to be precise. All I've done is create a data connection, add the datasource, created relationships and then dragged items ome. I've been working with databases for a while and have never had this problem when taking these steps.

Right now I have checkboxes on my form, and depending on what check box I check, the value of it gets put into a text box. So if I check "Right Eye", the texb ox below it gets "Right Eye" placed there.
I would like to do away with the check boxes and instead have a new form pop up with a list of words that gets populated from a table. Is it possible to be able to drag and drop these words into a text box? I guess I could use a List Box control for that but I'm unsure how to implement drag and drop. Maybe be able to multi-select words and then drag them all to a certain text box.
I'd like to have give the user the option of adding and deleting words from that form as they see fit, so could I just let VS do that for me by dragging the datasource onto the form and have it create a bindingnavigator or should I do it myself?
I have a datagridview showing data from an Access database. I have dragged the datagridview from "Data Sources" window - and not written any code. In bindingsource I have choose to sort on an autonumber field. Is it possible to let the user use the mouse to change the order, and the database to remember this the next time the user starts the application.I guess I have to have a number field in the database, and write code to change the value in number field as the user change order - and then save this back to the database? Does the datagridview support changing order by mouse at all?

I know how to drag a file to a listview, my question is regarding folders... How can I add a folder to the listview? I know a folder is not a file, but, is there a way to "recognize" it as a folder and then add any icon in its place?
View 2 RepliesOn each of my form I have put an 'Exit' button. When user clicks it, another form is displayed (I don't want to use 'MessageBox') asking user whether he really wants to quit. If user clicks yes the form closes. If user clicks no, form is redisplayed.
However, out of 4 forms only one form refuses to redisplay. The code is exactly same on all forms. I have included 2 Express 2008 projects showing one form each in the zip file apps-ssk.zip
What I have so far is a program that moves the mouse around my application. I used a bit a maths as well to make the movement smooth. Here's my code for anyone who is interested:
Code:
Public Sub MoveMouseCursor(ByVal DestinationX, ByVal DestinationY)
Dim DifferenceX As Integer = MousePosition.X - DestinationX
Dim DifferenceY As Integer = MousePosition.Y - DestinationY
[Code].....
Now with my problem. When the program is running, the last thing I want is for the user to be moving the mouse because the program would get disrupted. How can I enable and disable the use of the mouse for the users benefits really because if they even knock the mouse slightly it could cause them a few difficulties. Anyway, I am hardly restricting them from using their computer because there is only one mouse. If they want my program to run, then they will have to except the fact that they can't do something else in the mean time. Also, after the program has finished running, I will need to enable the mouse again.

View 1 RepliesI want that my application will have a splash screen - thats easy. The problem is that I want to give the user the ability to disable the splash screen if he wants. If I set this in the application splash screen settings then there is a splash screen, but there is no way the user can disable it. If I do it without a real splash screen - with a timer that closes the form and opens the real main window - the application closes itself because of the setting "Shutdown application: When startup form closes".I just can't choose the second setting (when last window closes).
