Get Favicon Of Current Website When A Webbrowser Has Finished Navigating
Apr 27, 2010I've got a webbrowser. It's prettey advanced, given that I've spent quite a lot of time coding it, and here is my code which will get the Favicon of the current website when a the webbrowser has finished navigating:
frmBrowser.BrowserTabs.SelectedTab.Icon = Controller.GetFavicon(Me.Url.Host & "/favicon.ico")
Sometimes, a user has switched tabs before the webbrowser has finished navigating. So my question is: Is there any way in which I can determine what tab the favicon belongs to and set it to that tab, rather than just setting the favicon to the selected tab?

Mar 15, 2011I'm making a tabbed browser and I want to get favicons in the tabs. I have a picturebox by the address bar that shows it just fine, but I want it in the tabs also. The tabs are owner drawn. Can I use the image key to display the favicon? If so, how? I've tried drawing the image in, but it draws it to every tab instead of just the one. Is there any way around this?

Aug 24, 2009I am using VB.Net 2008 Express and trying to build a favorites list for a webbrowser I am working on.I get an invalid parameter error on the line that reads favicon = image.FromStream(stream).[code]the urls are stored in an array after they are taken from an xml file.I checked the url that was being used when the error occurs and it seems fine. I can even navigate to it in IE.The error I get is that "stream" is an invalid parameter, at least that is where it points to.It also shows that stream is a type System.NET.ConnectStream.Stream was originally set to System.IO.Stream.I don't know if this is a problem but it processes several urls before it gets to this one.I am wondering if this may be a permissions issue and the site is blocking the WebRequest or if it is something else.

1. I have Combobox with 3 urls in there ( Facebook.com Tagged.com and Bebo.com )
2. I have a Form2 with webbrowser
3. I have a Button when clicked it should open up my form 2 and preview of the website which I selected in my combobox in form1
All I'm trying to do is when I select lets say facebook in my form 1 and click load it should open up my form 2 with facebook website in it.[code]Now when I click my button in form 1 it will load Form2 ( named Explorer1) but my form2 is not showing me facebook or tagged page for some reason

But some sites don't have one and what i want is for a picture box to become visible when that happens.But i can't get the code to work (i suck at coding no surprise there).[code]Problem is it doesnt work. What happens on sites that dont have a favicon is that the last favicon loaded is the favicon of that site without a favicon.

Apr 9, 2011how to display and interact with a website, at the moment its just research on how to go about it. Once i start i may need some more assistance. But for now just research At the moment Ive came up with using WebClient and HttpWebRequest/HttpWebResponse to interact with website data. And i know VB.net has an inbuilt site viewer (just a wrapper for IE).The website im using is an Intranet page for doing VOIP calls. It uses a large collection of JS(jQuerry) mostly. Jan 6, 2009I want to create a file upload client for uploading.com and I wanted to know if it is possible to make an application that lets you select a file from your hard drive, press an upload button and then the app will process it just like the website processes the file when you use a browser.Also I want the app to display the progress bar that the website displays when you upload, and when it's done, it has to get the URL for the uploaded file and display it in a textbox.Why not just use the website you ask? Nov 11, 2009So I grab a source from an url in vb, and as expected it lists everything written in there. My interest lies in the info that resides outside of the tags in the code. And that stuff gets updated daily, so they're not static strings eitherm here, I've been able to filter out all the tags, and grab everything outside them, and show em in a messagebox, but somehow it picks up every line change, that's essentially an empty character, and lists those as well. We hit our heads together with a couple of friends but we couldn't work out why.Also, I've tried modifying it to find different stuff, but somehow everytime I try something different the system gets screwed up and it finds no results. But that's just because I'm such a buffoon with the code.

I then want to (Imput, the station ID) for example "OMDB" then automatically click the button to get the required data. once I have this I need to get parts of this data into a textbox to complete my calculations.
I have little knowledge of this process but understand I need to use the Ellements of the page to get the data I want.
