I am using VS2008 and creating forms. By default, the underscore of the character in a textbox when using an ampersand is not shown when I run the application. ex. "&Goto Here" is not underlining the G until I press the ALT key.Is there a way to have this underline the text that I put an ampersand in front of when the form/application starts instead of having to have the user press the alt key?

I have some menu item entries that have shortcuts of Ctrl + X, Ctrl + C, and Ctrl + V that operate on the datagridview. However, these override the default cut, copy, and paste shortcuts for the textbox. How can I make the menu shortcuts only apply when the datagridview has focus?
View 2 RepliesSo recently my Netbook keyboard stopped working, I got this new one. That would not be a problem if it was not for the missing [FN] key. My computer has several shortcuts, like FN + F6 = Turns screen off.
I cant seem to figure out how to bind these shortcuts to buttons in Visual Basic so I can just hit the button and turn the screen off that way, I've only used VB to make small simple fun stuff.

As a last touch to this code I thought I would add a percent bar so it would look more professional. I did so with:

i want to make a simple program where i can add/edit or delete a shortcut from an installed programs in my computer.
let say c:program filesmicrosoft officeoffice11winword.exe.
the purpose of this is i want some of my selected programs to be in a single window where i can click to open so i don't need to go to start then programs and open that specific program.
i want to run that program in startup so everytime i start my computer the shell or the program is already running and i could click the program that i want on that window.
can we make code which can make copying a file in a particular drive invalid/access denied?
View 3 RepliesI'm using Windows Task Scheduler Wrapper to schedule the tasks (basically to launch an exe console every two minutes or so) in a .net desktop application.However, I don't want it to pop-up the console every 5 minutes or even once. How do I hide it? I understand if I was using vb.net to launch the exe, there are several things I could have done. However, I am using windows task scheduler to launch it.

View 2 RepliesI am working on some USB (flash drive) software which i want to make portable and always accessible on USB i know .net is not good for this because much users don't have framework installed but users who use this software have it installed and i just love VB.net :)
So what i want to do is to create a hidden partition on this USB device where software will store some info and itself. The software and data it stores is 6MB so i would also like to know the suggestions from you what size of this hidden partition can and i should make.

I want this because users i working this for usually format their drives and that way they delete the software too, so hidden folder and encrypting doesn't help me in this.

I would like the Windows Key + Q to do the same action.So Windows Key + Q = Alt + F4.There are a few shortcuts I would like to do but if someone could help me do it for this one then I should be able to take it from here.

I have 2 custom shortcuts that I created which link to a network share, but everytime I try to add them to the setup project in the users desktop or start menu, vs simply doesn't allow it. No message box or error box appears, I select the .LNK file to add and it "pretends" to add it and allows me to select it, but doesn't appear in the setup project folders.

I seem to be having an issue with Building my application. THe programs builds just fine,but when you install the program and then run the program it wants to act like its configuring the program, prior to running the actual program.I get a windows box that pops up stating its configuring the program and then it runs.But it only happens when I access the program through the shortcuts that I have the program create when it installs. If I go directly to the program directory and click on the program there, it starts just fine.

However, the Me.Hide statement doesn't work during the form load procedure. It seems to work fine after the form has been loaded. So, my question is, how can I simply stop the form from becoming visible in the first place or hide it after it has loaded?

I have the following code which I use in another Form and it works perfectly. I copied the same code to another form, changed the controls, keys combinations, etc., but the keyboard shortcuts do nothing at runtime. None of the key combinations work, it throws no Exceptions,I put a MessageBox in the F1 KeyDown conditional, but it doesn't show. That tells me that it's not Handling the KeyDown Event.[code]

If someone copies it to other Drive/USB, it must not work. Do u know how to implement this?

i have a NAS drive that is mapped to my system..My application will copy files to the drive but the only problem is the drive has a sleep function on it therefore when i try to copy files to it and it is in sleep mode, it says the folder does not exist (drive still in my computer but just with a red X on it)is there a function to make ir ready ? the only other way to do it is to double click the drive icon in my computer then it wakes up... but id rather not do this as its a pain.

I set boot priority to only boot off of the flash drive yet it will not run. I tried writing an autorun.ini file, which did nothing. I think i need to make a boot.ini file.
