PolicyNumber
NextPremiumDate
PremiumNumber
Example For each PolicyNumber i have 5 NextPremiumDates.I want to display the 1st NextPremiumDate which is easy ...but i want to show the next NextPremiumDate only after the last NextPremiumDate has passed...How do i check if the last date has passed?I mean if i have 5 dates in the table given above...how do i check if the 1st date has passed then show 2nd date ...if 2nd has passed show 3rd and so on.
VB Static Date Updates?
Oct 11, 2010I have an excel sheet developed by a vendor that I'm stuck with the current functionality as a short term solution. The users workflow have them pull 4 separate sets of data which they are copying and pasting into a different spreadsheet where they append the data to previous days' pricing for trend analysis. That macro is built looking for the first blank row in column A, simple enough.
However, they then add the current day's date to this other spreadsheet as an additional column to do that trending. I found a nice link to a site that mentioned I could do this logic by adding code by right clicking the sheet name and selecting 'View Code'. I then entered the following logic that states if column A is populated, populate Column T with today's date statically (Today and Now don't work because I need it to stay at that date when it is refreshed). My issue is that this works great if I enter test data into cell A and hit enter. However it is not populating the date if a copy and paste is executed into the column A. Is there something I'm missing or a recommendation to have this work with copy/paste?

Forcing Custom Date Passed Regional Settings?
Feb 11, 2011This has been driving me batty for the last while. I have an application that is passing up data to a SQL server table. Part of the data is dates. Because of settings on the SQL server the update will not accept the MM/dd/yyyy format. I have been trying for quite some time to get around this.
For some more information. Changing the update method or the server regional settings is not an option and I don't want to change my regional settings as this may not reflect the production server when this goes live.
Here is what I have tried so far

It works fine if the day is 12 or below because it still thinks that is the month. Is there a way to force the code to recogize that I want to use dd/MM/yyyy format or even dd/MMM/yyyy format?
This has to be done at thhe vb code side as the update to the SQL server is completed via a custom framework so I can't customize the SQL code to insert the data using a CONVERT

Aug 10, 2010I am teaching myself VB while creating a basic application I can use at work. Is there something in VB that will calculate a past and future date from a specific date. For instance, an Election Date falls on November 2, 2011. Once this election date is entered I want the program to calculate the reporting dates. The first report due is due exactly 32 days prior to the election. The 30 day post is due 30 days after the election.

I tried this but it tells me I need to use the to_date function. dteStartDate is already a date variable so I know my syntax is wrong.

Jun 24, 2011I am attempting to import data in a batch from an Excel Worksheet to a Sql Server database. Everything works except for the one date field in the spreadsheet. The date returned is off by four years from the value in the spreadsheet. Example: The Excel sheet has a date 10/24/2010 14:18, but when I look at the column in my query, the date is 10/23/2006 2:18. This pattern, 4 years and 1 day earlier, is repeated for every row in the worksheet.
The Excel column comes to me as a custom type, formatted m/d/yyyy h:mm. I receive this from an outside vendor and having them change the column is not going to be my simplest solution.
For what it's worth, the relevent part of the query is:

When user stores a record, I need to make sure dates don't overlap.My simple code checks date ranges within a specific record (e.g. user enters 9/16/2011 or 10/21/2011, I throw an exception.)But, on the slim chance a user gets creative (e.g. 10/14/2011 - 10/23/2011 or even 10/14/2011 to 11/16/2011), now they have circumvented my check.BTW, the user could enter 10/14/2011 to 10/23/2011 if they were editing the record that contained values 10/15/2011 - 10/22/2011.So, I'm trying to solve this riddle with a linq query. However, what I have isn't working exactly right.
