I'm trying to write a program which compares the difference between any date in the past and the system date, showing how many days have elapsed since that date.This is what I've got so far:

That's what it looks like so far. I was wondering how you can automate the top label so it automatically comes up with the date when the program is run.Plus, I need to know how to display the dates difference (how many days have elapsed between the system date and the user's chosen date) in the bottom label.

I need to write a code that reads off a value from a another system's screen and compares with fixed value in .net 2005. The code should read all 24 lines of data from the screen and match to see if it is equal to the fixed value. What I have so far is:

I'm trying to make this program which compares the difference between any date in the past and the system date, showing how many days have elapsed since that date. This is the layout I've created so far, the two date boxes currently show the system date so even if I change the system date, both those boxes will adjust to show it as well. I want to try and make the system date a box without a drop down arrow and so you cannot edit the box at all. The box below is fine how it is as the user can enter any date they desire. And the text box at the bottom needs to show the difference between the system date and the inputted date.

I tried to accomplish this via a MailMessage.Headers.Set call, in VB.net. See below:

To be clear: I am not doing this with malicious intent. I am working on an e-mail integration component that utilizes both UIDs and a "Last processed" date to locate the first new e-mail to integrate. I want to test cases where multiple e-mails have the exact same date/time - as the e-mail integration module should handle those situations flawlessly. If I could simply fake the date this way, I could send as many e-mails as I wanted that matches a certain date/time, rather than trying to send them with an automated script - hoping they will all be received within the same second.

I have a form where a user can choose an election date. One of the most frequent errors users make is entering the incorrect due dates of reports. Therefore, I am attempting to generate the report due dates in the application using the report guidelines. For instance, reports are due 32 and 15 days prior to the election and 30 and 60 days after an election.
I know the following won't work but you get the jest of what I am attempting to do. I am assuming I will need to break down the month, day and year somehow before I subtract or add the days to the date to get the actual report date.

I'm trying to compare the modify date of a file vs the current system date. I've found an MSDN article describing how to get the modify time of a file:

This gest the Date and Time, but I want just the Date not the time.

I am teaching myself VB while creating a basic application I can use at work. Is there something in VB that will calculate a past and future date from a specific date. For instance, an Election Date falls on November 2, 2011. Once this election date is entered I want the program to calculate the reporting dates. The first report due is due exactly 32 days prior to the election. The 30 day post is due 30 days after the election.

i have date fields i want to validate if the date is greater than system date it should prompt user and force user to enter a correct date. but when the user wants to cancel or close that particular form without correcting the date he should be able to cancel the form. in my case it does not happen you will have enter the correct date before you can even cancel when i use Lostfocu,Leave,Changevalue

I have a program that should display report let say from a date to date. but i am using string compare and not date compare. what is my problem is it is not displaying the correct output and always shows a dialog box that request parameter.-how do i make so that the default parameter box not showing?-how do i make the report display the output correctly?-the connections always show "logon failed" and need to be refreshed everytime i want to display the report.

How do I calculate relative time?How do I calculate someone's age in C#? Anyone know how of a function in VB.NET or C# that will take two dates, calculate the difference and output that difference in an english string? I have a date value (e.g. 2011-04-11 07:45:00.000) which I am pulling from my database (via Entity Framework). I need to pull out only the hour from the original date value (e.g. 07:45:00), get the current time, and then subtract the current time from the database time value. In pseudo-code, I'm looking to do something like this:

Ok so i have a date time picker that holds a date that was entered by a user. My program works fine when ran on a computer using English(US) regional settings, but when i take it to a computer running any other regional settings, I.E. English(UK), which is the 2nd most common regional settings that will find its way to this program, I recieve an error because the Date format is backwards. What i'm curious about is how can i grab the system Regional Date format in order to rearrange my Date to fix its context?
I know that since the date is stored as a string i'm going to do something along the lines of this to break it apart:

inputarray(7) = temp(1) & "/" & temp(0) & "/" & temp(2)
i am almost 100% sure the above code will take a date in MM/DD/YYYY format and rearrange it to DD/MM/YYYY format.

I need to return the exact difference between two dates in the form of a string. If the dates are 01-FEB-2012 and 01-FEB-2014, the function should return "2 years" If the dates are 01-FEB-2012 and 01-MAR-2014, the function should return "25 months". If the difference is not in exact years or months, it should return the difference in days. I do not want to use DateDiff from the Visual Basic namespace so the code is portable to C#.
