VS 2010 Filtering Listbox From Combobox
Aug 31, 2011On the form, I have combobox1, combobox2, datagridview, and a listbox. Basically, combobox2 displays a list of street names. My problem is that once the user selects a street name from combobox2, the listbox should be populated with only the customers' names who lives on that street. How can I go about populating a listbox with just the customer names? Originally, the street names include the house numbers as well. For example, "5100 E Dublin Granville Rd". Fortunately, I figured out how to display ONLY the street names ('E Dublin Granville Rd') and not the full street address to the combobox by adding the following public property below. However, I am still encountering a problem because now the combobox has duplicates of the same street name![code]

Its a customer accounts database where for instance I add a new Account holder which creates a new Table and when I want to view a specific account holder a want to select that account holder from a combobox that views the Table names.

May 20, 2012I have a csv file and I import it to datagridview. Now I filter it using 2 datetimepickers. One for start and other for end.When click it must loop through the column names and must display only the columns which matches start date, range of columns between start and end date,enddate. please see the image attached.First image shows the datagridview when loaded from csv.second shows the desired output when filtered using datetimepickers.

I have edited the column headers and set the column names to the same values as my table names yet the data is not showing in form load I have set datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False I know the data is there if I delete datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False then the data is shown with the default headings?

This is what I am doing and this is what I would like to happend
I have two combo boxes, combobox1 and combobox2
I have two tables, Application table and Group table
Here is how the data is going to be display:
Combobox1 = Application Table
Combobox2 = Group Table
In the Application Table I have 3 columns ID, Code, Description
The same information applies for the Group table
THis is an example of the Application table

Filtering Listview Items Via Textbox / Combobox
Sep 24, 2008I have a child form which contains a list of names and information, like age, sex, etc, in a multicolumn listview that gets populated from an xml file on the form load.There is also a combobox on this form that contains different Ages and when the user selects an age in the combobox I have it so the listview clears and the data reloads then removes all the rows that don't contain the matching "age" value in the age column.This works but it's really slow since each time a user makes another choice from the Combobox the whole listview is repopulated from the xml file.[code]I was thinking about doing the Name filter about the same way except on the textbox keyup event, but I fiqured I'd work at getting this working better first since this is way too slow.I don't really know any way of filtering the listview other than deleting the entries that don't match what's in the combobox.But then I end up reloading the whole thing when another selection is made from the combobox.

The issue I'm having now is that I need each of those employees in column of EMPNAME to appear in a combobox when I hit "GET LIST". The datagridview does show the table names in the db using the SHOW TABLES sql statment, but I'm not understanding how to get this info into the combobox instead.

Jun 12, 2011My client wants that my table be filtered based on the values from a field regardless of its order.
Example: I want to search for a student whose surname is 'Thomas' but the keyword is not the first in the field. The 'Surname' field, instead, contains the value "Ian Thomas".
If I am going to use this code;
bindingsource.filter = "surname Like '" & textbox1.text & "'"
It will base the searching on the first characters of the field only.

Jan 22, 2011[Code] my issue is that now i need two cases, first i need a query that will return the date created and modified of the table and i also need to know if its possible to query a list of table names in the database ordered by date created but that have a certain thing in their names. for example the database contains the following tables: [Code] and what i need the query to return is the tables that contain "Data", settings and employees are for the other functions of the program. so the query should return the 4 data tables in order of date created. but i have no idea how to go about doing that in the query, does anyone know how this is done?

I know how do drag them over from the DATA SOURCES menu, but I am trying to combine them.
