How can I get the CPU usage for an individual, specific process? I know how to get the total CPU usage, but not for 1 process. What I ultimately want to do is list all the processes whos cpu usage is greater than zero.

Its a nasty joke going around school atm to stick a shutdown command on computer startup, was gonna see if i could do something about it.

I've commented out various things to limit it to specifically this command (example, I can swap mklink out with notepad and it works fine). The command runs fine from a DOS window, but can't be found when I use it this way. I also tried using the SHELL command just to test and I get the same results. No idea why it can't be found, as like I said it executes from the command prompt just fine.
All I am looking to do is display the current RAM usage being used in a textbox, nothing more nothing less. I will encorperate it into a timer and update automatically, how do I do this ?

Button1 Gets Process which is notepad, When Button1 is clicked in the ListBox1 it shows the Main titled of the windows, Example Notepad is running and his title is Untitled - Notepad in Listbox1 will show the title, And the Button2 Should kill the process of the selected item in the ListBox1, Like i Got 2 Notepad open, 1 with titled 1 and other with title 2, when i select in ListBox1 the one that says 1 and i click button2 it should kill the notepad process that have the titled 1 no all the notepads.

I used 4 seperate pictureboxes to load in each picture. Then I click the option to select X picture, which works. However, if I click another option, the Y picture doesn't load.I tried with:

I am working on a small VB application that listens for commands sent from an Android app.
One of the functions is to extract an archive. I am familiar with how to listen for the unrar process to finish, so I can display a progressdialog on the phone while the extraction is happening, and clear it as soon as it's done.
BUT ... if there is an error/alert from WinRAR, WaitForExit() never gets called because WinRAR is still sitting there open until I click "OK" on the MsgBox.
For Example ... if you try to extract a file that is not actually an archive... an alert will pop up saying "No Archives Found", and basically everything is halted on the VB app and the Android app, and the Android app just sits on a progressdialog saying "extracting..." until you manually hit "OK" on the computer.
As you can imagine, this is a problem if the whole point of your app is to NOT have to go over to the computer.
So... I am wondering if there is something similar to WaitForExit() that will wait for an error and allow me to close out the alert and let the process end.

Something that looks like that, yesterday I got the code on how to Kill a process by name, today I would like to learn how to ask the computer if that process is running, and if it is, Kill It.
I am working with saving and deleting images. What i really want to do is check and see if an image exists in the destination folder and if it does automatically overwrite it. i couldnt figure that out so i figured i would look to see if the file was there if it is Delete it then write the new file..The issue is i keep getting this error.The process cannot access the file "FileName" because it is being used by another process. At work we have been asked to create a diary of our days work and since most of my work is in excel, word and a custom application I have built, I was wondering if it was possible to track the usage of these programs store the data in a datatable and then save it to a access db.
Usage of the program would mean the time that the file is open on the screen, that way the time a program is open but minimised in the taskbar would not be counted.
The data table would have these headings -
1. Program (i.e excel, word etc.)
2. Name of File used
3. Time used in program
Could I use the windows task manager for this?
I saw some 'offsets' such as: 0x006E71A0and some that were like, Game.dll+8E336CI'd more so think the 0x006E71A0 and the Game.dll+8E336C are among the same format, so i'd like to use that.I have also read somewhere(this could be wrong) that the memory addresses formats are different between VB, C#, and C++.

This works fine for anything that is around 40x40 but if I try to do 100x100 it takes forever and sometimes errors out with a window handle error. Once it gets around the 40th column the labels start adding slower and slower. Is there anything I can do to make this more efficient? I added the backgroundworker routine in there to see if it would speed things up at all but it doesn't.

I'm having an unusual problem that I've never had with WR's before. I have a very user-driven program that interacts with a server of mine through webrequests. Depending on what the user's doing, it could end up sending a dozen requests/minute. This has never been a problem before, but for some reason system memory usage increases and doesn't stop increasing, as if something is cluttering it up for every webrequest that is sent out.
Is there a known problem with WR's like this? Or is it just a random screw up? I can get my system back up and running smoothly.
I check the memory usage of my project from task manager, It always increases when I open forms but doesnt decrease when I close them. So the memory usage is getting bigger and bigger...

I've created a very simple form with one button on. I need it so when the form runs, it opens in the bottom right hand corner of the screen regardless of the resolution. It also needs to be always on top of all other applications.
When the buttons pressed, i need it to close all iexplore instances and reopen a fresh instance.
I've tried to search for the answer but to no avail.
