Oct 21, 2008I have a problem detecting whether one of the arrow keys is pressed, all the other keys seem to be detected apart from the arrow keys??? I have set key preview to True........ It detects the arrrow keys BUT ONLY if I have NO other controls on the form??? example..
Me.Text = e.keycode
It works, but then if I add a button for example, it stops.

May 9, 2010im working on a little app for my self, to make my life a little more convenient. I have some media keys on my laptop, and I would like to use them with itunes while it is minimized. I found a app that did it for me a long time ago, but cant seem to find it now. But I would like to try my hand at my own, and I've managed to do so, but, my app has to be in focus for it to work. is there any way to still detect when these media keys are pressed while my app is out of focus?

Oct 28, 2010i have a program called Vip Task Manager.This program lets me set up task which others have to complete.When they are done with a task they have to mark it "completed" and make a report on what they have done and used to perform this task.Vip Task Manager has a button which directs them to an upload form, now when they press the "open" button I would like this to happen: Open a certain report making program I made myself.When they finished writing their report and press save, the program saves this report on a dedicated network HDD (.txt file) and closes itself.Then add the file or link to the upload form in Vip Task Manager.What it all comes down to is that they dont have to minimize Vip task manager, open the report making software, save it, go to vip task manager, press upload, press open, look where this file is saved, select it, and upload it.now, typed in red is whats already been taken care of.The rest, I have no idea where to begin to be honest.First I want to find out how to retrieve that a button is pressed in a existing program. VS 2010 Converting Keys To/from Different Formats?
Aug 3, 2011I have a lot of keyboard keys stored in different formats. For example, "Up" may be stored as a string, as a decimal (200) or as hex (C8). I need to convert all of this different representations to strings so they can be easily understood by the user, and then back again when I save them.When I capture the key press using the KeyDown event, I can grab the decimal value from KeyEventArgs.KeyCode, which can easily be converted to hex if needed.

Jul 23, 2011I've encountered another minor problem with using vs 2010...how do you assign shortcut keys? I've read you just click in the shortcut keys option then press the buttons you want to be your shortcuts- this however just acts like I'm pressing the shortcut keys for vs. for instance alt x, which I want to be exit, takes me to debug. Typing alt + x in manually gives me an error saying what I've put in is invalid.
