VS 2010 Multi Treads - Open New Tab On Tab Panel?

I am new to doing more then 1 thread, and wanted to have a up/down control where you can select a number say 1-5 Then based on that number, start a new thread to do something like open up a webpage as a new tab, on a tab panel, once thread is done, close the tab..
Here is what i had, but dont know the rest.

I would like to add an effect where a panel sweeps out of the way to make room for another panel. This is sort of like a sliding effect, and I think at one point in time this could be seen on Apple's website under their product pages. I came up with some code, but it isn't working.

im trying to get my from to have a flow panel that shows all open forms and it has to refresh its self when a form open or closes. Ive already kind of done this but im sure theirs a much better way to do it.

I need to center the red panel in the middle of the dark grey panel, when you resize the form the red panel should be in the middle, and the red panel can't be resize, anyone have a code or property to do this?

I am working on a project where I need to open microsoft word documents in a form with a panel (the document will be put into a panel).I found the code to try and use API, it would not recognize the file names (yes they are valid filenames).Tried a whole bunch of stuff. Here is my current incarnation:

It ALWAYS starts the word document in its own window and will not redirect it to my own program.I tried to redirect the output and it gave me a message that it was not a valid win32 application.

I have created a (kind of) 'Desktop' Form for the main basis of my program. Basically it is made up of 3 panel controls.
1. Holds all buttons which load the different forms (Like the windows start menu when expanded). name: StartMenuPanel
2. Holds Information on log in deatails. name: LogCheckPanel (very thin panel at top of screen)
3. Main panel which takes up the majority of the screen (where I want the forms to load). name: MainPanel
My aim is: When a button is clicked from the 'StartMenuPanel' the form will load with-in the 'MainPanel'.
I tried changing the start position to 'centre parent', but the panels are in the way so some of the childform is overlayed by the panels.

When I run this I get the following error: 'Top-level control cannot be added to a control'.
I hope I've explained this well enough.

I have read a lot of the prior questions/answers on this topic but it only took me so far. I have a solution to which I added 2 additional programs. These 2 added programs in essence create a PDF2TIFF converter using GS. I wish to call that form and use it as a utility from my main program. After reading other answers in the forum, I added these two programs as references in the main program and imported everything available, into the main program. I have what seems to be a correct build order set up. I want to open the form in the utility project(s) from a link on my main form. I tried a few things but the only way I could write the code without errors was to instantiate the second program then call that with a button click.

I've written a simple WAV player in VB 2010 - a Windows Form App with no menus. I'm trying to create a hotkey, like CTRL-D that would make a text box visible. Typing the correct password in the box will expand the form and show some Administrative functions. I'm having issues creating the hotkey with more than one key.I've got the following code, but it does not work. I do have KeyPreview set to True.

I've been raking my brain for quite some time on this. Is there any way with VB.NET that I can use multiple IP's in one instance of a program? For example, I want to be able to navigate to a web page 10 times at once, with each one using a different IP. I want them to be parallel (multi-threaded) rather than going sequentially. Going sequentially, I could just do the action, change the IP, do the action, change the IP.

When i want to update a label that is on my main form (from the check_accounts sub). I know that isn't the right way, but i have no idea what the right way is. All the documentation i can find is very (excuse me for this) nerdy and really doesn't offer much insight on how to incorporate it into a project.
I want to be able to have a numericupdown box that can let the user change the amount of threads they want to use. I assume more threads allow the http requests to be done faster and at the same time?Also if i wanted to pause the HTTP requests, would the best method to use be pausing the thread?

I am a Network Administrator in the Army so programming is not my strong area. I have been messing with Batch files and WMI, just recently i started VB Scripts (VERY BASIC) like adding an input box to set computer name, scan network for computer name on domain, return wmi info for that remote computer etc... I know there are programs out there that can do all of this, however the Army will only allow certain approved programs to be installed on government workstations, i have been using .Bat files to gather info which is fine, however it is very time consuming when you have entire subnets with computers, networked printers, etc to place into a spreadhseet for higher headquarters tracking not to mention the over 20 columns of required data to track for each computer. I have VB 2010 Express, working on a Windows Form Application Project. Goal is to interface my VB Script (written with notepad) with a GUI that will generate an internal spreadsheet on the form window in a datagridview. So far i have the basic window and i have my gridview with my column headers set. How do i get the data into the columns and rows accordingly.
Application Basic: Execute Program, in main window select button (Scan IP Range) <--- I want this to open an input box for the beginning subnet, input base address to start scan from, next input box for end range, then msgbox for start scan. i want the results of the scan to autofill the datagridview and add new row for each IP address that had a ping reply, returning valid data from WMI results as it receives the data. What would be the best method to achieve my goal. i am not asking you to write the program, i have been looking and studying MULTIPLE sites, think i just need another set of eyes on this to unlock the knowledge i have locked away, if ya know what i mean. I'm having some issues with parsing a lot of information into controls using winforms. I've tried adding threads/backgroundworkers, but they don't seem to work properly. To avoid the cross-thread exception, I had to add an invocation checker:If Me.InvokeRequired Then Me.Invoke(New MethodInvoker(AddressOf ParseSub()))This just freezes the form as it would without threading, but without the invoke checker I get cross thread exceptions because information from one thread is trying to be sent to another.

I'm adding multi-threading facilities for the first time. I have a function that is wrapped to be run in a separated thread. This function retrieves data (text) from a combobox and it works for sure without multi-threading.
When I call it as multi-threaded, I get the following error when I try to retrieve the data from the cmobobox: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'cmb1stBL' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
It looks like a restriction of thread-safety... I assume that the child thread cannot read from his parent, to make sure that he doesn't change his parent data. So how can I read the data from the combobox? Should I read the comoboxbox data before calling the child thread?

i have having a annoying problem to do with loops.

When the user selects a few rows from my list box i want to run code on them selected items which i can do fine, but when the user only selects one of items and hits the button. it goes throught the loop first and gets the picture and all is fine its when it comes back to this function after there are no more items to perform tasks on. it increments index again and then falls over because its out of bounds of the array. i want it to stop after one loop but i also want it to be able to have the multiselect option still so the user has a choice.

I think I need a two dimensional byte array I currently have something like this:

I now need to load several files at once (say four) so I need four arrays of 196608 bytes and I want to reference them by a number - 0 to 3, assuming the array is zero based. If I use Dim MbyteData(196608, 3) as byte or Dim MbyteData(3, 196608) as byte the syntax seems to be correct but I hit an error ("Number of indices is less than the number of dimensions of the indexed array") when I try to add the extra dimension to the stream read with something like oFileStream.Read(MbyteData(index), 0, MiByteCount).

I want to make my client & server fully working. If a client connects to the server it should tell that there is a new client connected. if a client disconnects it should tell me a client disconnected.[code]it says in my patcher window(where it should add the text) that it's succesfully connected.but at the server side its not saying there is a new client connected/disconnected, how can I do this?
