Does anyone know if you can remove focus from all controls on a form so a user doesn't inadvertently cause action on a control when it's unintended such as hitting Enter at the same time your app appears causing some action to occur? Do you have to leave focus on at least one control?

I am setting my Winforms Button control properties to appear as a hyperlink would on a web page. I've formatted everything fine, except the border in the FlatAppearance object. I have code to act as pseudo-CSS (FormBackColor is a string constant.):

The code removes the border from the flat Button control except on MouseOver, where I add a 1 pixel border. On MouseLeave, I remove the border. This is to show some visual feedback. This works fine when the button does not have the focus. However, if I click on the button, giving the button focus, mousing out and over again now shows a greater than 1 pixel border around the button. I'm imagining it's combining my button's explicit 1 pixel border with the traditional "Winform Button has the focus, so add a border" border around the Button.How can I disable/remove the "Winform Button has the focus, so add a border" border? Or, should I just do a check in ButtonMouseOver to check if the control has the focus, being a condition of adding the border, and just be done with it?
I have a picture box in which I type some letter on capturing keystrokes.The problem is that at Form Load, the focus is on the buttons available on the form. How can I keep the focus on my Picture Box at form load?

Hence in the load event i place a line: 1st_txtbox.focus()But on reopening the form the 2nd time, if user has already moved to 2nd_txtbox, the cursor gets to 2nd_txtbox. Where did i go wrong?
View 3 RepliesI have a custom control I'm creating. When I click on it, it draws a dotted border and puts some nubs on it for resizing. This all works perfectly. Now I want it so when I click off of it, it deselects. I already have a variable to set up if it's selected or not and subs to draw/clear it. I just have to be able to detect when something else is selected or it gets clicked off of.
What I've Tried
My first and best solution to this was to use the LostFocus event, but, by custom control apparently won't let it fire. After some research, as far as I know, custom controls don't have Focus events because they are custom and could be changed (basically, you have to implement the focus events yourself).
My Question
Does anybody have a solution to either implement the focus events or a way to handle off clicking for custom controls?

I have a nested custom control that I need to set focus on. I have it all internally wired up to automatically set the focus when the form loads, but when it comes up on screen, the designated accept button for the parent form is in focus instead. Even when is disassociate the accept button it still does not set correctly. How can I ensure my desired control gets focus.

Because whenever I remove a control and add it again, it does not Load but rather just changes its visibility from false to true and all the variables are not reloaded.
I tried to use .Dispose() but VB.net tells me thatit can't access a disposed object whenever I try to add the control again.
I have a form with transparent background (using png file).All controls placed over it becomes black at start then they change there color and comes to there original state on MouseHover. Its not the transparency keys problems since the transparency key color is different that controls back color. What can be the problem?

One of the picture boxes adds another row with the same controls but moved down when clicked and the other picture box (should) remove the same row that it was clicked on. I have PictureBoxAdd1, PictureBoxRemove1, TextBox1, and Button1 set up by default and when PictureBoxAdd1 is clicked, it adds 1 at the end of the name properties. Now, how do I remove the appropriate row when PictureBoxRemove is clicked? Say I have 5 rows (but the amount of rows available will depend on how many PictureBoxAdd was clicked), if I click on PictureBoxRemove4, then PictureBoxAdd4, PictureBoxRemove4, TextBox4, and Button4 should be removed all together.

First problem: Clicking the addsplit image adds another row with the same data but an increased value to the end but when the 6th row is added (displays the scrollbar), only the bottom 5 addsplit image works (when scrolled to the bottom) instead of all of them working. So i have a Panel which on Mouse Enter and Mouse Leave i change the visibility of some controls which are docked inside it. Problem is whenever I hover over a control within the panel the Mouse Enter then moves to that indivual control and thus they are made invisible. Is there any way i can make this work without having to code these two events for each control within the panel?

Is there a easy way of determining if the app has focus?
im using send keys, and i dont want it typing the keys and such, if the app doesnt have focus.
Also, if you click off of it, etc... It's more so a pause thing...
The only other way I can think of, is setting it so,
If myapp has focus, then pause the keysends.... then if it loses focus, assume the app i want has focus again.
