VS 2010 Search As Type Class - ''tying" ListBox And TexBox Together?

I am trying to write a class to implement search as you type. e.g. a form has a textbox and a listbox. Each time the textbox text changes, the list is the list box is filtered accordingly. E.g entering "ha" in the textbox would cause the filtered listbox to display 'I plan on implemtneting a sayt class.(see example below)
The thing I am having problems is working out how the two controls will 'talk 'to each other.
e..g when the textchanged event fires for the textbox, how does a sayt object 'know' that it needs to refilter the listbox?

I'm looking for a code example of how to tie two forms together. Essentially, I want to create a second form that "docks" outside the main form and acts as an extension of it. They should move together and never separate... essentially I'm using it as a popup method of dealing with data in a list, but I want the two forms married together. Quite simple but I'm having the hardest times trying to write something that'll do what I want. I have 1 listbox with 3 pre-defined strings each in their own index. I'm trying to search through a textbox to see if any of the strings in my listbox were found. So far I have no compatible code so I seek help from the professionals.

I have been having some trouble today with a User-Control of mine. Is what is happening is when I try to build an application with the control in it, the Form.Designer has an Error saying that Namespace.ControlClass is not defined. I have no idea what the problem might be and hope that one of you do.The weird thing is that the Control Builds just fine and I can drag it from toolbox to the form and THAT works. Also, it works just fine in Design-time. It didn't start erroring until either, I upgraded it to VS2010 or until I changed it a bit today. If necessary, I can post it here.

I am using visual studio 2010, service-based database. I created a simple table and created an edit form for that table. But when I save a row and then clear the text of a textbox (which holds a decimal value), it simply does not let me tab off the text box or save it. I put a ErrorProvider to see whats going on. It says "Input string was not in correct format". But I allowed this column to be null in my table. So how do I fix this error. And by the way, it does not happen for all text boxes.

I am currently attempting to create a VB.Net script that pulls up information on installed printers. I am using Visual Studio 2010 SP1, and as my target program needs to run on older machines, is currently built using .Net 3.5.Looking online, there are several methods on how to do this, one from url...the code is supposed to use System.Management as you can see. However, after importing System.Management, Visual Studio throws an error and states that ObjectQuery, ManagementObjectSearcher, and ManagementObject are not defined.a quick look at the MSDN forums shows that ObjectQuery is a class of .Net 4, 3.5, 3.0 and 2.I figured the error might be because I didn't have the .Net 3.5 SDK installed, so I installed the .Net 3.5 SP1 SDK to no avail.just to make clear, I am importing System.Management at the top "Imports System.Management"

I have a listbox which on form load generates correctly from a text file like so in a listbox...ex"John Doe, 1""Bob Brown,2"I now would like to search the listbox if it contains either a "1" or a "2" which is does in this case and copy the item to another listbox. The 1 and 2 indicate positions I have a position listbox for each position. In VB.NET, if I create a class it is a reference-type. But, if that class it chock full of value type properties, how is this handled? If the class is instantied but never filled, I suspect a pointed for to the heap is allocated. But is more space allocated on the stack for all of it's value type properties?

I suspect I am being very silly here but I have the following setup
Class MustInherit myBaseClass
'some stuff
End Class
Class myInheritedClassA

Running this results in the following error
Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException:

is there any way of 'Widening' the inherited class to the base class so this would work?
EDIT:regarding XmlInclude(typeof inheritedClass), currently this method could potentially return a number of types of inherited class (i.e myInheritedClassA and myInheritedClassB) is it case of simply having to add each of the inheritedTypes in this tag?

I have a class that hosts inside other classes that can host otherclases as well and so on.
I want to change the value of one property (PropertyA) in all classes down the tree.
How can i do that when i dont know the the type of class inside?
How can i iterate through the classes hostes as proeprty of the mother class?
I am trying to use reflection but i get just the properties of the first class

I'm designing a small GUI Windows program that allow staff at a cinema to reserve seats for customers. There will be a total of 60 seats in the cinema. I have two classes in my program:-
1.) MainForm.vb - used for I/O actions and user interaction
2.) SeatManager.vb - used to hold and handle the background methods and functions that make the program work
Here is the code for my MainForm.vb class thusfar:-

Basically, when the program opens, the lstReservations list in the MainForm class will be populated with a total of 60 (m_totalNumberOfSeats) entries to represent 60 seats. Each of these seats will contain the index number from the array m_nameList; this index number (+1) will represent the seat number and then in the lstReservations list, after the seat number, I'd like it to contain the respective entry from the m_nameList array. As all entries will be held in RAM, when the GUI is opened, all m_nameList array entries will be empty. As the user uses the program, they can highlight a row in the lstReservations list and then use the GUI textboxes to enter the customer's name which will then be populated into the respective array entry.
how to, when the GUI opens, ensure that the lstReservations list takes all of the blank entries from the m_nameList array and from there, I can highlight a row to carry out further methods on?

I have an Account Class that is able to create notes(Class), however i am able to create the note object by itself which is not the desired outcome, i want only the account class to be able to create the note object. Another Example would be, an order item should not be created without an order class. But how do you enforce this in vb.net.
