View 3 RepliesI have a rather large project that several developers access via MS SourceSafe. The issue at hand is the ToolBox lists many, thirty plus, items that start Cached.(the name that follows Cached is the name of a class or Cyrstal Report in the project. There are also many items listed, they have the same "gear" icon, without the word Cached prefix on the class name.
My question is, how can I get these items out of the ToolBox so they never come back?
I found it unusaul that I can't load my toolbox items of my Visual Basic 2008 SDK after I just intalled Microsoft Windows7 Phone SDK. And, my property items are not complete, only the property of the main form is displayed, the properties of the controls in the form can't be displayed. I tried right clicking on the toolbox area -> choose items... and then I got this unusual message "an error occured loading this property".

I have a solution with about 5 projects, the main (startup) project is a windows forms project while the others are control libraries that contain some custom controls. The main winforms project however also contains some custom controls.
Recently, the controls in the main winforms project have stopped appearing in my toolbox. The controls from the other control library projects appear just fine, but none of the controls in my main project will show...
Some of the projects are VB, some are C#.
I have tried everything I know to fix it:Delete bin/debug folders and restart
Build, build, build, build, and build Target the same .NET Framework version and CPU platform in all projects Build again Nothing works...
All projects target .NET Framework 4.0 and compile for the x86 platform (since I am using Access db). All projects build successfully, no errors. I can run the solution just fine. I can even declare and add the controls in code and they work just fine. They just don't show up in the toolbox so I can't drag them to my form and I have to dig into the designer code everytime, which is really annoying!
I'm trying to add a custom panel to my toolbox using a dll file, but when I add it as a reference it only appears as greyed out - and this is only after I click "Show All" in the toolbox.Everything builds fine in the Class Library project I used to create the custom control. Here is the simple
Imports System.Windows.Forms
Public Class pnDoubleBuffered
Inherits Windows.Forms.Panel
Public Sub New()
[code]....
I build the project, open my main project where I want to use the control. Then I click "Choose All" from the toolbox and add the reference using ".NET Frameworks Components". I find my dll file and click OK. Then nothing is added to the toolbox. I manage to see the control greyed out when I click the "Show All" option.
I am unable to access the TableLayoutPanel feature inside the toolbox in Microsoft Visual Basic Express 2010, I was wondering if this is a feature that is excluded from this package or is it something that I need to download.

View 2 RepliesI have wrote a code that should write some text in a xml file and add a item for every file in the fileadddialog to the listview. But i can't make it to work, the writing works, both with multi-select and single files. But it only add the Movie to the listview if the file don't exists (read the code to understand).

The only way I know how to put an item in a list view is to make a new item, which is the first column, then add a sub item for the columns after that and the item is placed in the row.For this Project I am wondering if there is a way to easily add items to individual cells, based on the column and group, not add items in a row at a time.
Something like the following image is what I need to do with code. To get this I manually added the items in the designer. But the logic bases where to put the class on the other classes in that time block (Mon at 8-1030am is one block). However if we have to add them a row at a time it throws off our logic and thought process.
How can I get items in listview? I know how to get the current item if selected but Im trying to put it in a loop where i need to get my three row items there.
I have 3 columns and I want to get there items and insert it in entry string.
This code is wrong
Dim a As Integer = 0
For a = 0 To ListView1.Items.Count
columname.Text = ListView1.FocusedItem.Text(a)

I have 200 cars in my database. I may want to select many ie all Ford's and update their color to Blue, I may want to select the top 20 and update them to have a milage of < 20,000..How can I do this on a form? Many otherwise databases I update have an ID in a textbox and I have a SQL command that updates WHERE ID = @ID..I guess some kind of loop? but where do I get the id's? load all the cars into a listview? datagrid..

Would it be possible to list the number of items in a rich text box? Each item starts on a new line. Something like the following but obviously for a rtb.
TextBox1.Text = ListBox1.Items.Count
How do I get the set of checked items in a checkedlistbox when an item is checked or unchecked, given that ItemCheck event occurs before the check state is actually updated? (The SelectedIndexChanged event won't work in my case.)
View 3 RepliesPublic Structure ReportOrderType
Public ReportName As String
Public ReportDate As Date
Public SaveFile As String
End Structure
[Code] ....
Basically, I have a list of reports. In one place they get ordered, and later on the program looks to see which ones have come back -- see if the .SaveFile exists on disk. If it exists, then that report gets processed, and then I want to remove that item from the list of reports-on-order. However, I get an error message back that by doing the .Remove(R), I've changed the list itself & things won't go well with the rest of the For Each loop, which makes some sense.
When I get to this routine, the list of ordered reports will be something from a couple of dozen or less, and some number of them (perhaps zero, perhaps all, probably a few) will exist & be processed & then should be removed from the list. How should I go about accomplishing this? This is my first time working with List(of t) as a Visual Basic tool; everything I've used in the past has been with arrays, and I can do this there.
