VS 2010 Waiting For A Screen Re-draw To Finish Before Continuing?

Oct 16, 2011

I'm writing a simple program that takes a screenshot of tab1 of the GUI, then takes a screenshot of tab2, then tab3, etc. I've got the screenshot code down pat, but the problem with my current code is that it's taking the screenshot of each tab before the screen has a chance to fully redraw, so the resulting images are screwed up.Is there a way to get the program to wait for each tab (and all the controls in it) to be fully visible before each screenshot is taken?I'd like to avoid using a timer for this, as the screen redraw speed will vary depending on the user's computer, and the contents of each tab, etc.[code]

IDE :: Visual Studio 2010 Is Waiting For An Internal Operation To Complete?

Feb 2, 2012

I know I'm not the only developer experiencing this issue but only within the last month I started receiving Visual Studio 2010 hangs while running running a simple ASPX web project within the IDE. On stopping the execution or closing the web page VS2010 hangs and becomes completely unusable - stating that VS is busy. It never returns and I have to stop the DEVENV process, resulting in a complete shutdown of VS.

Until now (1 1/2 years) I've been developing a Winforms application with no issues, other than VS2010 IDE errors that have been documented and I've been able to work around. Now, like my Web project, I am also experiencing the same hang but not as frequently. Other documented cases is this forum don't apply in this case since I'm not working with an IIS web site.

Additionally, in reading the forum messages I notice this issue has been around for years and has caused a great deal of grief and delay to many development projects. I'm running Win7 Pro, VS2010 pro on a Pentium Dual-Core CPU 2.20 Ghz with 4 GB memory laptop running in 32 bit mode. I'm very concerned at this stage of the process to upgrade to VS2010 SP1 since I've read too many horror stories online and can't take the risk of affecting the only support environment i have for Winforms application that is currently in production

VS 2010 - SerialPort Lagging - Serial Port Is Open And Waiting For Some Signals From The Dyno

Sep 9, 2010

I have things set up so that the program is ready to start logging ,only when Recieving=true. This is controlled with Button1. So I click button1,Serial port is open and waiting for some signals from the Dyno. When 1 signal come it put a "1" in TextBox1 ,and for the second a "2" and so on. Thing is sometimes it starts right away, like I want it to,and sometimes it lags a fraction of a second, even though the Port is open. When it lags there are already 5 to 10 signals gone by before it starts logging 1,2,3,...and so on. Sometimes it don't start at all. Then I have to close and re-open the form and it works, but with lagging on the first "set"

"Textbox1 > 0 then" triggers a timer (not seen in this code)that samples Textbox1 once pre interval and writes the value to a listbox. On the upside as soon as a "1" is displayed in textbox1 the timer starts like it's supposed to.I noticed this behaviour before I added the timer and besides the timer has nothing to do with the signals coming from the SerialPort. I have my form setup so I can run "sets".Run one "set"...save...reset...run another "set" ...and compare. It's always the first "set" thats off.If I run multiple "sets" the first one is completely "whacked", and the rest are consistent.

Think this could be the SerialPort lagging,or code problems?

Here is the code i have so far...

This code works fine, but for one small detail. The app exits before the desired process starts, thus cancelling out the process all together. My question is, how do I get the app to wait for the process to start before exiting?
