I'm trying to write a sub that when sent a form (if its needed) will create a label on that form. This is because all of the forms will have the same title label. My problem is that, basically, I have no idea how to do this. I also can't get labels to create when the code is written into the form itself; I tried:

I have a Main Module that loads a form. I want to update text on a Label, my code is:

The code loads the form OK but does not update the Label's text (LabelStatus)I am getting an error Error:
'LabelStatus' is not a member of 'System.Windows.Forms.Form'.
This worked ok on a previous project and I can't work out what is different.
I am writing a control application for an inteface card. The complicated work of initialising communication with the card is written and working fine. However, my problem is to update the text in a dialog label on the communication interface form from a module that contains all the coding for accessing the inteface card. From the module, the interface dll returns data that describes some typical connection errors and the module then calls on Public Subs in the form to display error messages; for example:This is the Public Sub in the Module that initiates communication with the interface card:

What happens when these Public subs are called from the module is that the MSgBoxes I made to test the routine show up but the label text doesn't appear.I've tried; Refresh, on the label and the form without success...
I'm ready to implement a server browser for my FPS.but instead of having a .exe running on the remote machine to handle the server list, i'd like to use simple HTML and server side scripting.what i need is some kind of a tutorial that can be used to show me how in my dedicated server program to (for example)

So I have my main form (Form1) and I have a module called globalMod. On start up, Form1 loads, and globalMod contains functions and global variables (using Friend). I need to be able to have a function inside of globalMod edit a label/text box/etc in Form1. I tired Form1.object.Text = "content" and it doesn't do anything, even if I update / refresh the form.

In the Solution Explorer, the module shows up as a Windows Form and if I double click on it to open it, it tries to open the Form Designer. What could be causing VS to think that it is a Windows Form instead of a module?

i havent coded for a few years and in the days of old i remember it being easy, i.e form1.label1.text = "what ever". only that give the error reference to non-shared member.
so i dim formstat as form1 and try again with formstat.label.text = "what ever" only this time it give the error nullreferenceexception was unhandled

That form has an option for printing, which calls another form where certain options are chosen. The print form in turn calls a function in a module, which tries to reference back to the origional form.
childform as new frmSearch -> frmPrintForm -> sub okToPrint (in module Print)
okToPrint tries to reference a listview on frmSearch, but can't find it.
For Each itmX In frmSearch.lstResults.Items
So the solutions I can think of off the top of my head are:
1. Somehow divine which form is the caller of frmPrintForm
2. Pass ChildForm to the frmPrintForm as a variable to be passed on to module Print..
3. Use frmSearch directly instead of using an instance of it.
Number 1 would be my preference, as I don't want to have to pass forms around like that.
I have a connection module in which I have written the open and close database connection.... if database connection is an error it will return false else if success it will return true the function of the modules will be called from the form code....
what I need is if the connection is an error the module should also get the form name which returned the error...is it possible???

1. Can I still order a new copy for Visual Basic 6 from MSDN or other place? VB6 might be already obsolete, so if I have to order newer version, such as Visual Studio 2010.

A new program I'm working on is testing my VB knowledge, which I admit is not all that vast. I'm running a timer that checks an 8 channel I/O USB module every 200 milliseconds. When checked it returns a decimal value that must be converted to an 8 bit string, which I then convert to an array for analysis. After analysis I might make a change and return a different value. I'm not overly familiar with the bitarray and am concerned about using "New" so frequently. Is there another more efficient way to work with the bitarray class that doesn't require creating a new instance each time?

This is inside the Module separate from Form1 class as you can see right off the bat it's not a class and there is no reference to Form1.. how do I access Form1 without passing reference to make factory modules work like this.
i've created a Sub in a Form.
I've created another Sub in a module.
I call the Sub in the module from the form, passing the form into the Sub defined in the module.
Then i add an Handler to an istance of a control (for example mousemove) and i want to give to this handler the execution of the Sub defined in the form.
Example.

ModuleSub(me)

The problem is that i don't know hot to call the Sub defined in the form, in the Sub handler using the istance of the form passed in the Sub paramenter in the module...
I have a main form (frmPos) and through a module (modTransaction) I open and close several other forms. This works flawlessly. However, when the function on the module is finalized, I want to clear the main (open) form. Therefore, I made a public sub (clearForm) on the main form and when I call this from the main form it works.
