VS 2010 Best Way Of Cloning Keyboard And Mouse Messages?

Jun 15, 2011

I'm currently trying to write a program that will clone input from one program and broadcast it to 4 other windows (Mouse and keyboard, with the exception of the enter key). This is for a World of Warcraft and it is legal. I thought that I would use setWindowsHookEx, but I can't figure out how to set it up that it only takes the input from one window and not globally. Can anyone recommend the best way of cloning keyboard and mouse messages ? or give me an example of how to set a windows hook for only one program ?

DataGridView Cloning Dataset Cloning

Jun 19, 2010

Away back in the days of "dBase 3+" and "Clipper" we had a useful command called "COPY STRUCTURE" for copying the structure of a database table without copying the data. Does VB.NET have a similar capability for cloning a DataGridView and for cloning a DataSet?

C# - Keyboard Messages Windows Flow - Catching The WM_KEYDOWN Message Through WndProc

Sep 16, 2009

I'm developing a program where I've had to add a keyboard shortcuts system. The problem is it uses a third party OCX for a part of its display, and it is catching some essential WM_KEYDOWN messages when in focus, like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, etc. I've tried catching the WM_KEYDOWN message through WndProc, but the message is not propagating, so I guess the keyboard messages go from the inner container to the outer one, don't they?

The WM_KEYUP messages can be caught tho, but I'd prefer to be able to catch some of those messages on the KeyDown event. I'm aware I could make some low-level hook, but I'd like to avoid this workaround. Well, if the WM_KEYDOWN message goes from the OCX to its top level container, I guess I'll have to treat those key combinations in the KeyUp event.

DIY Calculator : Keyboard Vs. Mouse?

Apr 30, 2010

I am creating a DIY calculator. The one in W7, I can't hardly see. Mine is much simpler and larger.I currently have buttons for numeric 0 - 9, Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Clear, Enter, and Decimal Point. There is a label at the top with displays results. If I use my mouse to select the buttons, then everything works okay. However, if I use the keyboard, I get strange results.I thought it may have been my old keyboard so I changed it.No difference. If it's not in the hardware, then it's in the code. The section below is what I have for keyboard use:

Private Sub Form1_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyPress
Ch = e.KeyChar
Select Case Ch[code]....

For each of these, there is a corresponding Button_Click even farther down in the code. Since the mouse click on the buttons on the form works properly, the problem must be above. I can't see it.

Script To Disable Keyboard And Mouse

Dec 25, 2011

I am kind of amazed that there is no answer to this anywhere and I mean anywhere. I am looking for a way to disable the keyboard (actually all input) on a computer. There are several threads about it but no one has ever posted any serious, working code. I know someone is going to inevitably ask "why would you want to do that"? Actually why I want to do it is immaterial but if you must know... I am playing with a "USB Keylock". When this USB Keylock is not present in the computer I want to disable the keyboard. When it is present I want to enable the keyboard.

VS 2010 Any Tips Or Techniques For Debugging In Mouse Move Events / When Mouse Button Is Down / Has To Stay That Way?

Jun 6, 2011

I'm currently debugging a form that sets a flag when the mouse button is pressed, then clears the flag when the mouse button is released. As long as the mouse button is pressed, the user can move the mouse around and a few things happen depending on where they move. One of the things that happens is that a timer starts, or stops, and a few things change color depending on the mouse position. The timer starts when it should, then stops when it should, but once stopped, it is not re-starting when it should. I can verify that MouseMove events are getting through, because coloring changes as I move the mouse, as it should. This would be a simple thing to debug...except that it requires the darn mouse button to be down, and it uses the mouse move event. Anybody who has put a breakpoint in a mouse move event handler knows the issue: There are THOUSANDS of them. Worse yet, since the mouse button is necessary for switching to the IDE, as well as setting a breakpoint (technically, a keyboard shortcut could do this if I could shift focus), I can't wait for the problem to happen, then switch to the IDE and set a breakpoint to see what is happening then.Does anybody have any tips or techniques for debugging in mouse move events when the mouse button is down and has to stay that way? As it is, I'm going to have to write some funky code into the method just so that I have a place to get a breakpoint when I need it without breaking on every one of the mouse move events.
