How can I format the colour of a datagridview by code.I know I can do this:
frmName.dgvName.GridColor = Color.WhiteSmoke
but if I want refine this and color by numbers, as such, how can I do this:
frmName.dgvName.GridColor = 255, 255, 200 (because this does not work!)
I am using VS 2005 pro and VB.NET. How do you format the DataGridView.DefaultCellStyle.format property for zip codes and phone numbers. I have a zip code and phone number column(s) that I want to be formatted. I have tried a lot of different things:
Zip code: "99999-0000" or "Phone Number: "(999)000-0000" or "(000)000-0000" and the like So far nothing has worked. I can get my date columns formatted correctly, but not these. Can any one give me some examples that work?

View 16 RepliesI had a weird series of errors involving e.Graphics.DrawString() when painting a panel.I am using a barcode font [Code 128] with a library that converts text to the proper format for Barcode readers.That's fine, however, when I draw it to the panel, that's where things stop being fine:But, here's where things get funky. When I put it into a TextBox instead of drawing it via Graphics.DrawString(), everything is peachy:In fact, the TextBox one looks much better than the Graphics.DrawString() one! The back color of button 1 is red. However when I use this code the textbox types "red" instead of "#ff0000". Is this because when typing HTML, most normal people would type:

I now want to recolour certain rows to another colour. Lets for example say all rows where column(7).value < 5 should be red or whatever.

I've been searching for quite a long time how to do this. I don't know how to set the colour of a row item in the GridView (WPF) using code I don't want an example in XAML. My data comes from me loading & pulling apart an XML file. I then put it into a small class with properties and those are bound to the column to populate the data. Later, it can begin some functions on the table's data. Because this takes at some times over 10 minutes it's on a thread & I would like to colour the rows I've completed parsing depending on the result. (IE: Red for HTTP error, Orange for XML parsing error ect...)This is the GridView's XAML:[code].....
I am then parsing the data using the url column. I am currently changing the selected item as I go through. I want to know if theres something I can do to change the specific item. Let's assume I'm on row 500: I use: setSelected(i) which uses Dispatcher to safely change the selected row. Is there anything I can do to change the colour as well?
I have a function that i use to save a datagridview row to an access database (which works fine) but i was wondering any one know what i should look up to figure out how to set the row that i am saving to a colour IN the access database. So the row that i save is say red in the access database.

I'm trying to create a log on method for a system which will involve users selecting a colour from a paint panel and then placing/drawing the colour in 1 or more tiles of a grid, basically a 3x3 grid in which for example they selected the blue colour and drew in the top left tile and the bottom left tile. The logon is selecting the correct colour and placing the colour in the appropriate tile. What i want them to be able to do is place even a single pixel of colour so it has a high accuracy. So far i have a timer which loops from the width of the grid to the height of the grid.

To start with i have just hard coded the colour i want it to detect. At present it produces an error. Parameter must be positive and < Width the error is on System.Drawing.Point(i,j). If i place the mouse over the colour then run the program it will say it has been found, but otherwise it wont find the colour. I believe i am not updating the location of the pixel or something to that effect.
I've got a combobox which loads the system colour list, the selected colour is stored in the registry (i've tried storing the index number value aswell as the colour name - how can i get the combobox to display the stored colour as the default colour when the form loads? this is my very first posting and I must say I am desperate. I have a VB assignment due in 2 days and I am so lost. I have written a code to draw some graphic, just a basic house, tree, sun etc. I have also written a code to magnify said graphics which were all the specifications of my Assignment 1 part A. Now for Part B I am being asked to extend my program so that: A - My graphic can be drawn using different colour schemes designed by me but chosen by the user B - My graphic or an appropriate part of it can be animated around the picture box if the user chooses to do so. My DGV has row BackColors set to various colours based on business logic. When a user selects the row the colour changes to the selected row BackColor thus obscuring the pre-set colour. I would like to preserve the original colour when a row is selected and indicate selection with (perhaps) a bold border around the selected row.

View 1 RepliesI'd like to replace all the white pixels in a bitmap image with pixels of the colour "Color.FromKnownColor(KnownColor.MenuHighlight)". Is there some method in the Image, Bitmap or Graphics classes I can use, or will I simply have to inspect each pixel in the image with GetPixel, check whether it is a white pixel, and then set it with SetPixel?Here is the code I am using now:

What ive done so far is make 1 textbox show the current hash code of the colour, and it works..
But what i want to do is, In another textbox, you type in a hash code and the color dialog loads the color of that hash code.. Not work!

I am looking for some information on getting the colour of each pixel in a picture. The ide is to get the colour and then have my program draw a line along that colour itself. For example. Can I change the colour of certain cells in column 2 only. So when I read in the data from the database it reads in the description and then puts the data in the relevant time slot but I want the recent cells of the description column to be a different colour.
I am currently drawing a line with Graphics. Drawline. Once this is drawn, under certain circumstances I want to change the colour of it. When the line is drawn, does it become an object that I can then refer, or do I simply draw a new line over the original in a different colour
