I am trying to put a new face on an old C program. The C program is, of course, unmanaged code, designed smartly to separate the number crunching and the interface, and the interface I'm trying to replace is X windowing. The graphics part is where it gets a little hairy, because the C is going to need to continue to draw in my new interface, based on the data the program produces. Even if I want to duplicate that data in .NET so that the .NET side can handle all of the drawing, the fact remains I'm going to need to operate on the graphics window in some fashion from C.
I gather that handles have a lot to do with the bare Win32 graphic operations. Is such a similar handle provided to, say, a PictureBox element in .NET? And if so, is it the kind of handle I can use in the unmanaged code without an issue?
I have tried and tried and tried to google for the solution for weeks now, and all I come up with are either C++ solutions (using object-oriented GDI+) or some sort of extension to the C language.
Alternatively, is there a way I can have .NET create a handle specifically for this purpose of having C draw it?
To sum it up, I am using Visual Basic .NET 2008 and a C DLL (also compiled in VS2008), so far in the little testing I've done, I've been able to marshal complex structures to and fro, but I am not sure how exactly I'd let C do any drawing on the .NET form, if that was even possible.

- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)

If an item is added in one, I want the change reflected in the other two. I'm trying to create one sub to handle the adding of an item for all three combos. I found that the "sender" object appears to contain the control name. The Sub I created is not working quite right because after the item is added, the combo list display repeats itself. So instead of "Item1, Item2, Item3" after adding "Item3", I get "Item1", "Item2", "Item1", "Item2", "Item3". ok to start i know very little about VB6 but i am very good in true basic lol (stupid school teaching the wrong language -_-) anyway im just asking you to make the answer as clear as possible because i don't know very much. heres the problem . ok in the above example i have a button that (for my example) can be used to build a house (lol) i then have a variable in the button sub called money which will have 150 subtracted from it when the button is clicked my problem is it say variable not defined when using this button ... i have declared the variable in a module and in form load along with my other 50 or so variables. my question is how do i pass the variable into this sub and then send the new value back into form load so it can be sent into another sub for more calculations.

Each time the Sub is initiated, it should add one random event to the sequence (so that it gets longer each time) and then run through the sequence.This is rather difficult to express.What I'm trying to do, is create a Simon Says game with the four buttons.After the sequence goes through blinking the buttons, the program must then be able to capture the sequence of button presses by the user and match that to the sequence that the program ran.So, I need to be able to keep track of two sequences in a variable. I have one form, which the user enters upto 5 websites then clicks go - I have on the second form, the one with the webbrowser. A timer which checks if the web browser is busy then either a green light or black image will be shown along side the assocaited input box on the first form.I am finding it impossible to feed variables into the clock through ByVal, like I would a subroutine or function.

The variable Hey is determined by the first form - Which picturebox.I have an if statement which simply says if inputbox one has url enter then Hey = Picturebox1, If input box2 has url entered then Hey= Picturebox2 etc.What I want is the timer to check the page has completed loading or is still loading or refresing and the appropriate green or black to be shown aside url input box on first form.I considered using a sub or procedure to act as a clock (a large for loop with another for loop within it, acting as a delay). But found this slowed down theapp to the point of crashing it.
I want to pass variables from one form to an other. The variables i I need in the second form( called" Hulsview") are :" hulsbreedte" and" hulslengte". To check if the varibles are passed I added a textbox in the second form,called" hulsview" to check the variable" hulsbreedte". The value selected in the combobox on on form1" hulsbreedte = HulsBreedte1.SelectedValue" returns always 0 in the textbox on de second form.
