Change Menu Button Text?
Feb 21, 2009For my webbrowser I have a favorites system. I want the user to be able to type in what he wants his display text to be (for the button text like if the button directs you to google he should be able to type in the text box google and have it display) How would I do this with a menu button? By menu button I mean a button in one of the dropdown boxes. Basicly I want to change the text from fav 1 to whatever the user puts in the text box.

Sep 27, 2010I need to change the Text property in several menu entries, for example to display several of the last files that were opened in my App.
I save the names of the last files opened, in the proper sequence, in a file that is called when my App starts.
When the App starts, the names stored in the file are assigned to the menu fields, such that the user only has to click on the desired file to load.
When the user opens a file not listed, the new name is added at the beginning of the list, and the file names are re-assigned to the Text property of the menu entries.
This works fine in VB6, but when I re-assign the string in the Text property, some menu entries are updated, but some are not.

Once a choice is made I want a handful of different buttons which would vary between location choice. When a button is clicked it will install a printer. I've got the button and install part down but don't know where to start with the dropdown and showing different options upon choice.

I went over the properties of ToolStripMenuItem object and saw three properties that are confusing (Checked, CheckState and CheckOnClick), how can I mix them so that I get that functionality, I mean that when I check the French, the English gets unchecked and vice versa.

Localization - Menu Strip To Select An Other Language - Doesn't Change My Menustip Text To My Selected Language
Mar 29, 2010In my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR & nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

Oct 6, 2011I have combed these forums and the 'net and can't find an answer to my specific problem. My menu strip disappeared (after deleting a small secondary form within my project). I therefore created a new strip and while recreating the menu items realized that the original menu items are still present, showing in my properties list. I have checked my design file as well and the original menu strip is definitely gone but the original menu items are there. I don't have many items so I would have no problem just deleting the original ones but I can't see them to delete them! I have checked and they are all set to visible. I have also moved everything on my form to see if it is behind anything else.
