I'm trying to populate the list of a combobox by binding it to a datatable. Also, I want the selected value of the combobox to be bound to an object property so that when the selected value changes, it's automatically updating the object. However it's causing an error at runtime: "This causes two bindings in the collection to bind to the same property.
Parameter name: binding" I thought binding the dropdown list to a datatable and the selected value to an object were different properties but obviously I'm not getting it right.

I'm trying to create an export Excel/CSV function that will iterate through a custom object and first output the property names and then output the values. I want to use reflection only where necessary so I'm attempting to save the property names when I output the headers and then reuse them to print the values. Is this possible? I'm a little weary of using reflection in a loop but is there a better way?
Using VB 2008. We have an app with a third party grid on it works well enough. This is a small utility within a bigger suite, and adding/updating it involves a simple EXE copy. The issue I am trying to address is that not all customers will have the 3rd party controls on their systems, and we want to avoid deploying them if we can.
Can I build the app so that if the controls are present, the app uses them. But if they are not present, I use a simpler control? I picture using a 'launcher' form that tries to load Form2 with 3rd party. if it errors, then just load Form3 with common controls. But can I even get to that point? With missing controls, will the app even load? I understand Late Binding for objects, but this is a control right on the form. Can I late bind a control and add it to form dynamically perhaps?

I have a class named Item which stores the name, price, quantity, and description of an item on the grocery list. I have a module named ListCollection which defines a Collection of Item objects. I have created an Edit form which will automatically display the currently selected ListCollection item properties, but whenever I attempt to fill the text boxes, it tells me that Option Strict disallows late binding. I COULD take the easy route and disable Option Strict, but I'd prefer to figure out what the problem is so I know for future reference.I shall paste pertinent code here. I'm trying to do MVP where I have a view specific model that the presenter manipulates and the view binds to. There is no other connection between the presenter and view (the view fires off commands to the domain model via a gateway type pattern).

All variables are populated etc, it seems to go through the DataBindings.Add ok but when the form appears I get the error about unable to bind to a property or column called Id. I tried replacing the DataBindings.Add code to use the BindingSource1 instead of Items but I get a similar error.The names of the properties in the class match that of the name in the Databindings.Add code.
