I have a datagridview that I've added a checkbox column to. When I preview my data without the checkbox it works fine. when I run the program and try to load the datatable, I get a data error. I'm not sure what may be causing this. Where can I look to figure out what's causing this error?
View 1 RepliesI have a DataGridView that is bound to a datatable. I also have a combo box with sorting items in it. When the user selects a new item in the combo box, the DataBindingSource.filter is changed accordingly.
For the cell and row validation on the DataGridView, I set the row error text accordingly as opposed to displaying a message box.
Occasionally, when switching between items in the combo box, the datagridview gets filled with a bunch of empty rows that all have error messages. It seems it is validating the rows that existed from the previously selected filter against the new filter.

The code that adds the rows also saves to a file and then there is seperate code to load datagridview at the start of the programme.If I close and reopen programme it displays the checkboxes.
I am trying to add a checkbox column to a DataGridView in a simple window forms application.
I am pulling back some data from a database using ADO.NET, putting into a datatable, and then setting the datagridview datasource to the datatable. I then want to add a checkbox column as the second column. So far I have this code that seems to work:

This code 'works' and I get MyDataGridView to show the data with the checkbox column in the correct position in the table.
However, for some reason, I cannot check any of the check boxes in the DataGridView? I have tried lots of things (e.g.altering the readonly state of the column) but cannot get it to work.

(Nothing is attached to a datasource.)The 4th column is a checkbox cell.How do I detect if that checkBox is checked or unchecked?This code strangely reports TRUE or FALSE at random times. I have a datagridview bound to a datatable setting its datasource property to the datatable. I would like to have a child form that contains a list of columns associated with the datatable that contains a checkbox that will allow the user to hide and show the columns ( I do not know the best control to use here) (I assume this is the easy part as All i need to do is loop through each of the datatable's columns to get the column name)

What I want to do is for every row of data in the datagridview, i want to add a column for checkbox. The checkbox will be enabled or disabled based on the value found in the field results. The first time I am pressing the button, it works fine. But the second time i query, it keeps adding another checkbox to the same row. Even for the nth time. Everytime i press the button, a checkbox is added. I just want one checkbox every time i query the dataset.

i have a problem when add data into dataTable. The problem is that after populating the dataTable with the 1st, and when adding a 2nd column, the row that contain the data is not at 1st row of 2nd column. It is directly under 1st column row. For example, column 1 has 10 rows of data. After adding the 2nd column, the data is at row 11 instead on the 1st row. How do I go about adding a ButtonColumn to a DataTable.
I am basically using a DataTable as the DataSource of a DataGrid and need to add a ButtonColumn to the DataTable so that when I DataBind it to the DataGrid it all works.
Although when I try
dt.Columns.Add(buttonColumn)
This is not allowed. It has to be a basic DataColumn.
See the code below which is triggered on a datagridview row validation event where the datagridview datasource is a datatable.
The messagebox shows that it loops around as expected populating the datarow with the expected values (NOTE: There are no primary keys as this is a college assignment with specific requirement and all fields can be nullable).
I had to use ImportRows as AddRows would always error due to "This row belongs to another table" the odd thing was the values were different and again the table contains no primary keys.
The code below runs but never adds a datarow to the dataset datatable "Bookings", does anyone know what the problem might be?

PS: in CSV file, the decimal digit is "." and if I add directly a record into table, using "." as decimal separators, the numbers get right format.

I'm adding a DateTime DataColumn to a DataTable like this:

Then when I try to add it to my datatable, if the value is Nothing I get an error saying string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. I'm having trouble getting this to work.
