JavaScript Error Using WebBrowser Control Ion

Jan 23, 2010

I am developing an Outlook 2007 VSTO application that works with a commercial website.Almost all of the app's interactions with the website are done using HttpRequest objects.One user scenario does require the app to open a browser to a specific page on the site, and that page requires a Post string to provide the results of a form submit.I am using the version of the WebBrowser control that ships with VS 2008, and specifically VB.Net.My code successfully goes to the first page, after which it navigates to the actual target page (once the first page is loaded).That works, too, but if I click on the desired link on the target page, a JavaScript error pops up, stating "'j.parentNode' is not an object", with a Code of 0.I do not have access t the commerical site's internals. The page and links in question, when accessed via IE or Firefox, work correctly without the JavaScript error. The page containing the link is using Flex.Is this a problem with the nWebBrowser control?

Asp.net - JavaScript Object Expected Error In _doPostBack('','')

Jun 11, 2012

I keep getting the 'Object Expected' error within my page script when I click the button.I've debugged using fire-bug and the id passed to the JavaScript method is the correct id and document.getElementById(a) finds the button. The error keeps occurring in the _doPostBack. Can this be caused because the button is inside a modal popup in a gridview cell, and the gridview is inside a update panel. The reason I'm still using the JavaScript is the Post-Back event in the GridView.RowCommand did not occur without this.

The code:

function addAcc(a) {
var btn = document.getElementById(a); //get the button, not necessary but safer
alert(a); //To see the button id

Javascript - Microsoft JScript Runtime Error: 'ShowDatePicker' Is Undefined?

Mar 29, 2010

Working around an issue where my jquery datepicker does not display after postback within an update panel.

The textbox (trigger) for the calendar is contained within a control, which is contained within an update panel.I found an article assisting with this issue, and it informed me to do the following

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim tScript As String = "$(function(){ Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(ShowDatePicker); });"
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "async_" & Me.txtAquisition.ClientID, tScript, True)

Then on the ascx I have

Am I approaching this in the correct manner? Any other suggestions to ensure my datepicker remains usable within the update panel?Thinking this may be due to the fact that I have the controls nested within an update panel... several of them in fact.

Javascript - Bogus (Yet Crippling) "[WebElementId] Is Not Declared" Error In VB?

Jul 15, 2010

So I have the error mentioned in the title when I try to build my web site through the file menu. The code that causes this is below (JavaScript that appears in the body tag):

if(editedRow != null)
{
var SundayLoc = $find("<%= FieldOpsScheduler_ctl00_ctl05_RCB_SunLocale.ClientID %>");[code]....

Now what's really weird (and perhaps is an underlying cause of this occurring) is that when I delete the above code, exactly half the errors pointing out those web form element ID names go away. However only half -- not all of them, which doesn't make sense seeing as I got rid of all parts of the JavaScript code that ask for the web form elements' IDs.After deleting all relevant JavaScript and double-clicking the remaining seven error messages in VS2005, they all take me to the very first line of code in the page, which is this:

<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="DistrictSchedule.aspx.vb" Inherits="FieldOperations_DistrictSchedule" %>

Myself nor my coworker knows what the deuce is going on. When I get rid of half of the errors,at least the page will execute.However it all SHOULD work, judging by the code..

Additional Error Info:I should mention that those web form element IDs that I'm trying to find exist ONLY when my RadGrid is in edit mode, so it would make sense that they're not originally there to begin with. Regardless, this should NOT be causing a site-crippling error, although for whatever reason it is. Lastly, the specific lines throwing the error are the ones utilizing $find, and the lines utilizing the vars that $find gets values for throw the error too.

Looping And Passwords In VB?

Jun 12, 2012

I'm trying to write a program right now for my computer science class for a program where you insert text into a text box, (the text being a password), and then click a submit button. The goal of the assignment is to have a program that looks at the user given password and see if it matches the const password (or one of the three const passwords in my case). If it doesn't, it is supposed to loop back so you can re-input the password. Also, If you enter the correct password, the loop ends and you are to get a msgbox (or, in my case three different ones), and then the application closes. We are to write the code so that if the password is wrong "x" (insert 3 as the number I have chosen), a MsgBox will pop up with a message saying
something along the lines of "you have gotten the password wrong to many times.", and then the application is supposed to close. I don't think I could rant on much more, I've done a good (or in my eyes terrible) job of summarizing the assignment.

[Code]...

My problem (aside from, I don't know, a problem with my code itself) is that when It reaches the loop, it goes through all the code again, but I'm unable to change the user given password, and so it just pops up the three failed password entry MsgBoxes (the code for which is temporarily removed), then the failed to many times MsgBox, OR one of the successful message boxes. What I'm wondering is if anyone can help me fix my code so that it functions as desired.

Looping Through Checkboxes?

Apr 20, 2011

On a form I have a series of 20 checkboxes (cbS1 through cbS20). With that I have an integer named 'Count'

What I need to do: When the forms loads it will get a value for Count. I need all the checkboxes that are greater than this value to be checked.

So if count = 7 then cbS8 through cbS20 will be checked.

Im not really sure the best way to code this is. I know I can do it with a giant case statement...but there has got to be a better way right?
