View 3 Replieshow to export DataGridView to Word Because it's easy to edit columns and rows before print. In my DataGrid have:
1st column=ID
2nd column = FirstName
3rd column = LastName
4th column = Sex
[code]....
On my form I have three buttons. Two fill the DGV depending on what the SQL chooses. One has 200 rows in the DGV and the other has 500 rows. With the third button I want to print the DGV. I'm trying to 'dynamically' set the number of rows in VB2008/Word. I can get the correct number of rows in Word but they are blank.
Dim objWordApp As Object
Dim objWordDoc As Object
Dim n As Integer

I've used this feature in dev-c++ in the past, i exported my code as html and it retained its colour for string, commands etc. i want to duplicate this in visual studio 2k8, how do i export my code as html so that the colours of the text remain and regions can be collapsed or expanded
View 12 RepliesIm currently programming a HTML export for one of my applications.I've just realised i coded the whole export to work with firefox and now when I load it in explorer its not justifying my <DIV> tags the same as in firefox.
My questions are should i recode the export to work with explorer ?or should i state firefox is required for the export to HTML to work correctly ?is there a tag to add a page/line break in between my divs ?

View 17 RepliesIn our web application we would need to export data in a Word document format, the final document will have around 200 pages, which includes some static text and dynamic data coming from the database. We have a stored procedure which will return around 35 tables in a single dataset and this needs to be mapped to the corresponding sections in the final word document. We have tried this by using SSRS 2008 and the report is not rendering because of System Out of Memory issue due to the large size of this document. How can we implement this in a web application using ASP.net and Vb.net.

I am a newbie in the asp.net world.I have any asp.net application where I get data from a stored procedure in a datatable.I would like to populate the data in an HTML table and then export it to excel.
Unfortunately these have to be done the long winded way (each column individually), since the data is modified based on user login credentials, before it is exported to excel. [code]...
I'm developing an application in VB.Net (VS2008) which allows the creation of classroom layouts. The layout is a panel and has child panels (seat objects) the seats are then populated using drag and drop and show a preview of the person sitting there.
I would like to export this panel to a printable format such as jpeg, pdf etc.I have tried using the CopyFromScreen but I can't get this to only output the layout panel. (some of the panel could be off the screen at the time of export)I have also considered using HTML outputting each seat as an absolutely positioned div container. Then printing the HTML page.
i have displayed my table contents in datagirdview in windows form application using vb.net. my database is ms access. now i want to export these records into MS word or MS excel. how do i do that? any open code out there?

View 2 RepliesI run a report of nearly 10 pages in Ms.Access, included in with various conditions. When I export text to Ms.Word, the text is not justified but is left aligned. Is there any possibility of getting text aligned at export.
View 2 RepliesI am currently looking to replace our reporting engine, hoping to gain some speed. We are now using the Word automation, which works terribly slow when formatting tables. The big plus however is that it produces a .doc/docx file which is editable in Word. Also, it supports rich content.
So I was looking at Component One's C1Report, which is very fast. It can export to docx and does that equally fast. The problem is that some of the rich content, such as images, is lost or molested when exporting to docx.
I have to make a calculator that exports the data to a word/excel table -i'm using Office 2007- and i don't know how to create the code. Here's how it looks like and that's how the table should look like (i "masked" some of the parts cause they're not really important):

View 1 RepliesI have a program that at one point will open word and export some info. That works perfect, however I have just noticed each day I have a number of winwords open (can only see them in task manager so they are hidden). It appears that everytime I start the program it opens a hidden winword session. It has nothing to do with the code I have on the form, it opens before any code I have written is executed.
View 3 RepliesWhile trying to convert a word document to html I get the error: object reference not set to an instance of an object--> for the following line:
oDoc = DirectCast(moApp.Documents.Open(FileName:=OpenFileDialog1.FileName.ToString), Word.Document) IT seems to be error on the FileName
I have a problem which I have not been able to find an answer to in months. I store word doc resumes as varbinary(max). I can retrieve the resumes based on a full-text search no problem. But the resumes are retrieved as word documents in a .ashx file with the following code. I really need to implement hit highlighting on the site so that users can see if the returned resume is a good fit or not.
I don't think this can be done from an .ashx file, so I think I need to be able to open the resume as html in an aspx page and maybe use javascript to do the hit highlighting or perhaps return the text only content of the word document somehow and manipulate the text before display with html tags.

I just went from Visual Basic 6 to Visual Basic .NET 2008 Express Edition.

I need to write some code that opens a Word Document and then either extracts the data so that a HTML document can be created or simply resaves it as an HTML document. I've had a quick look around the net and tried adding an Object Reference to Microsoft Word Object X.0 Library to my Project. So that I could play around with things, but immediately It was telling me the following weren't defined.
Dim objWdApp As Word.Application
Dim objWdDoc As Word.Document
Dim objwdRange As Word.Range
Could anyone either explain what kind of thing I would need to do or link me to some useful tutorial.
In our Company we were using the following code to open an HTML script in Microsoft Word 2003
