Create a web browser with tabs and I want to add a "Open in a new Link" Button with a Custom Menu .
The problem is I'm trying to use a Dynamic Control(Webbrowser) created in a class from a local sub (A picture box) on the event click . But i get this error [code]....
I have a very simple class that is located within my App_Code folder in my VS2008 web application project. I am trying to instantiate an instance of this class from my code-behind file. Intellisense does not seem to be seeing my class and I am not sure why. I am using VB.NET which I am admittedly not that familiar with as compared to C#. Perhaps I am missing something. I would bet it has something to do with something I am missing in VB.NET.Here is my simple class (for testing):

I have a checkbox and a panel inside of a FormView control, and I need to access them from the code behind in order to use the checkbox to determine whether or not the panel is visible. This is the code that I originally used, but since I put the controls inside of the FormView, it no longer works.

There aren't any errors anymore, but nothing happens when I click the checkbox. I think there needs to be some kind of event to trigger it but I don't know how you can put an event handler inside of an event handler.
If I have added an html file to my vb 2008 form app project - for use with the webbrowser control. What would be the correct syntax for navigatingto it from the webbrowser.navigateto method.
View 11 RepliesWhen I started at my current employer I inherited a project from a previous developer and in that project was a data access utility class that tries to simplify a lot of the code involved in making calls and retrieving data back from the database. Over time it has been modified to add more overloaded forms of functions, and now I am looking at possible suggestions from the StackOverflow community.What do you think should be added? Removed?odified?Note:It would be nice if this class could remain compatible to VB.NET in the .NET 2.0 framework. We are also developing in 3.5, but I would like to have something that is generally going to work across most frameworks (so no LINQ, etc.) Also, please refrain from unnecessary answers that consist of nothing but "Use nHibernate" or other tools.

When the button is pressed, it all works and the following files are created: yahoo.dll and yahoo.pdb My question is this: What is the code to load the already compiled yahoo files to execute the code again, without having to recompile the code?
If my namespace is Company.Application.EDI.Acknowledgement and if I stick with theprogramming practice of one class per file then should my class be saved asacknowledgement.vb? Are there any gotchas that will come up?
View 5 RepliesI have some classes, BsfciFile and StudyFlashCard. Bsfci is the extension to which I save my set of flashcards in an INI format. I am currently working to transform my code from using Windows API calls to access the INI to using a IniFile class that I found on the internet. I would like the BsfciFile to have a Array of StudyFlashCard objects, but I would like the StudyFlashCard class to use the IniFile class object contained in the BsfciFile class. I can pass the IniFile from the BsfciFile class to the constructor for the StudyFlashCard class, but I want it to modify the same IniFile as the BsfciFile class has later on.

A parent class has a sub class with various properties. A property of the parent class is a List(of T) with T = the sub class The issue is how to store data in the sub class of the instantiated parent

View 1 RepliesI am trying to import a bunch of excel 2003 files all with A:H columns and they are under the same headings etc. into a table in access 2003 database. This is a module in access im making. Im using a file search to look for every file that begins with Format (which they all do ) to get at all the files in the folder path. is there a more efficient way to do this? somehow select all files in a folder? and import each to the same table in access? The DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet seeems to take each file path individually so I'm not sure how to get each file name in the folder to import it.

Ok I know this question has been asked to death but I still have not seen a good answer. I have created an application in VS2010 using VB.NET. In my application I have an error log that is an XML file located in the Public gstLocalErrorLogLocation As String = Application.StartupPath & "ErrorLog"that gets written to in the event of an error so I can trouble shoot application easier. My application also downloads files from our FTP site and puts the files in Public gstLocalDownloadLocation As String = Application.StartupPath & "download"So I have files that get read and written to as well and created and deleted all in the Application.StartupPath which is either "c:Program Files(Application Directory)(Some Directory)(Some File)" or "c:Program Files (x86)(Application Directory)(Some Directory)(Some File)" depending on 32bit or 64bit Windows 7.
After creating the setup I install it on my test machine that have both Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.Everything in the application works great till I have to write to, delete or creat a file in those directories above. I know it is an access issue and the UAC. This will get installed on numerous systems so the options I have seen to change file or folder permission on the computers manually is not an option.What has to happen is after I install the application it just works like when you install it on XP. Some post have suggested that you us a user with administrator privilages or group which is all fine and dandy but the user I have used to test the application has all of that.
So what I am asking is how do you create an application with VS2010 in VB.NET that after creating a setup package and installing on Windows 7 will just work with out "Access to the path c:Program Files(Application Directory)(Some Directory)(Some File) is denied." If I have to install this on 100 Windows 7 computers it has to be a concreate no manually doing anything just install and work like when we installed on XP.
Actually I want add some folders and files to MSI. Through custom action i want to copy that added folders and files to some destination/target folder.

View 5 RepliesI recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I find it it is crucial to use this code, unless someone can suggest to me another example of existing code that will do the same thing: make a restricted textbox who imputs can be restricted, that can handle pasting, shortcuts, text property setting, and script-entered text.

1. Namespace or type specified in the Imports ' Bryanlgh.Echo.Views' doesn�t contain a public member or cannot be found.
2. Name 'cboPcpMd is not declared.
3. Name 'cboPhysicianPerforming' is not declared
How should I define these controls?
I've been working on a project the last couple of day with the help of a lot of you out there. I've more or less finished the design of the interfase, but there are stange this happening with the form. I can say much about what is wrong because I dont understand it, but I would like to. I have added the form Class code and the Designer Code, is that enough or is more required? Theres a msgbox that popup in the form Load event which I placed there to see what I could learn about the GraphicsBuffer.

Wondering if it is possible. It works on the idea that all files share common code. The program would ideally analyse the source file and compare it to the reference files. It would then find common parts of the code and write it to a rebuild file. At the end the rebuild file and the reference files would then be able to rebuild the source file without it being present.
For Example.
source file code = xxyyzyzyxw
ref file 1 = xyxxzyzxwyy
ref file 2 = zxxwyzzywxx
The program would then analyse these files and make a rebuild file like the following
source(0,1) = ref1(2,3)
source(2,3) = ref1(10,11)
source(4,7) = ref2(5,6) + ref2(5,6)
source(8,9) = ref2(2,3)
Thus you would be able to build the source file using these instructions and the reference files.
I have yet to find a "nice" way to do two way databinding in .Net. The one thing I don't like for example in the present asp.net two way databinding is doing the binding in the aspx page is no compile time checking, ie:

What I don't know is possible is, how to receive the objectProperty in my example; I want to receive a reference (ie: a pointer) to the property, so later, via this reference, I can either read from or write to the property.
Can this somehow be done with delegates perhaps??
UPDATE: Note, I want to add the control reference to a binding collection, this collection would then be used for binding and unbinding.

This is my first major application using multiple classes. It is written in vb and I know about creating objects of the class and using that instance to call functions of the class. But how do I create an object with constructors to allow another program written in C# to access my classes and functions and accept things from the program.
