On page one I would like to create an instance of a class as such:

Then on subsequent pages I would like to be able to use pOne and xOne. Since pOne and xOne are local to page one how can I use them in other pages?
I'm tyring to pass a variable data type to a template class. Something like this:

I'm assuming it's something to do with the template being processed at compile time but even if I'm off the mark there, it wouldn't solve my problem anyway. I can't find any relevant information on using Reflection to instance template classes either.

My boss has given me an asp.net web application that was done by his former employee. Now my boss has no contact with that employee. He wants me to make some changes in that web application. I went through the application. There is no documentation present for that application . Its a huge application. It contains many directories. I think it was a team work. It has many asp pages, aspx pages, jsp pages, xml pages, css pages, etc... How to understand other person or team's website or web application that was written in asp or asp.net and vb or vb.net?

Sub class has four fields dates, transaction, memo and amount.I have a deposit form, and withdraw form. Each time one transaction is entered it creates an object with sub class fields, then adds to the account collection. My problem is not understanding how to call the deposit/withdraw method and pass the current transaction amount back to the base class to alculate the new balance. Does anyone have any links to information/tutorials on how to perform something like this? As you can see with my code I have tried various different approaches without any success.

I want to created a nested class that can only be visible to and instantiated from the parent class.But I also want to be able to use an instance of the nested class through a public variable of the parent class.I tried making the nested class private, or making the nested class' constructor private, but it won't compile.Is it possible to do this in .NET?

I have been thrown in at the deep end with an existing VB.NET project at work. I have never used VB.NET before so I am struggling a little. Does anyone know how to solve the following.I need to pass an instance to client side and then pass it to a shared method in order to access instance methods from when the shared method.The starting point is a fileupload control within the HTML of my Contacts.aspx file:

I'm writing a vb.net application which (amongst other thinks) interfaces with media players in the home. Because there are different types of media playersI'm trying to structure it so each type of media player has it's own class which interfaces to a management class which sits on top of all the different devices types.

I have a single instance database app that emails out notifications. I would like to add a link in the emails that when clicked would open up the app and go to the section of the program that its supposed to go to. I implemented my own URL protocol so that links starting with my codewords get passed to my EXE. So far so good. I then parse the URL and pull the keyword and identifier out to open that section of the program. So if a user clicks a link like this:
MyApp:LoadCompany?ID=323
My application will start, it will grab the arguments (LoadCompany?ID=323), pass this to my load company routine and then load up company ID 323. Works great.
Now the issue is if the program is already open I still want the links to work but since it's a single instance app it just closes the second app. How can I add something ot the app to watch for this or receive a message from the second app? I know I will need to check status of what I'm doing and make sure things are saved, check security, etc but I can get all that done easily enough. I've found some examples online but none really did what I wanted them to.
I seem to have problem with passing a collection/sorted list/ list of strings from one class to another.I am using property procedure to pass it, however nothing is sent to another class. There isn't any error messages either.[code]

No compile errors at all, nothing b gumdropsand lollipops.When I run the app I'm working on that references the class library, it fails at the point where I'm creating an instance of the class and gives me a vague exception, "System.TypeLoadException".

I want to create a class that will "search" for something. Basically I load up the "search item" when the class is created and inside the class is logic to do the "search". Tried to avoid using 'AddHandler' by using 'PrintDocument1_Printpage [..] handles PrintDocument.PrintPage but kept getting this error saying I needed to do something with Friends WithEvent handling. Can't figure it out :-(Update: noticed the following behaviour: when the command 'print' is given the first time, everything works out fine. The next time, the page sub is executed twice as many times as there are pages, and the third time three times as many, and so on. So first time printing works fine, second is screwed, and so on.
making a general functions class library that will be used in several applications and asp pages, sometimes running at the same time.I've looked at a lot of samples on the web and they all show you to create an instance of the classlibrary namespace or the classlibrary class.
IE.

What I did was create my class library and put a class in it and declared a function as sharred, then created my dll.I don't have to create an instance of it and I can use it like the net framework by just coding
n2 = mycompany.mynamespace.myclass.somefunction(...).
The net framework does this, I mean once I imports it I don't have to make an instance of it in every function.All the samples I've seen about class libraries do not use the shared keyword.

I am using Stanav's PdfManipulation2.AddImageToPage(..., Pages) for iTextSharp library (v5.1.3) and was not able to add the image to specific pages: e.g. to add to only page 1 and 3 of a five pages PDF

Calling AddImageToPage() with the the optional Pages parameter will add the image to all pages though.

But after I type "New", normally I would see my class file he intellisense but I do not. So it does not seem to be able to find Incident.vb. I have not seen this behavior before. Trust me, my class is correct. I have created many class files like this.[code]...

this used to be so easy in C++ and VB6 I am dynamically creating multiple instances of a fairly simple class, tracking them via the Collections class in vb.net. I loop through the collection if I need to get to a particular instance to set some property, for example. Everything is fine, and works ok until I try to destroy the instances that I created (largely because I am probably not doing it right). What I am doing setting the instance to "nothing".
