Asp.net - Somthing._Default Is Not Allowed Here Because It Does Not Extend Class 'System.Web.UI.Page'

Jul 23, 2010

This has got to be one of the most frustrating issues with asp.net. I first got the error parser error cannot load default and as I have done before checked if the naming was correct in th bin folder and made the changes accordingly. Now I get the following error:

somethiing._DEfault is not allowed here because it does not extend class 'System.Web.UI.Page'

where something is the name of the project in the properties. I have the following code in Default:

Namespace FormDiscovery
Partial Class _Default
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Shared settings As New System.Configuration.AppSettingsReader

[Code].....

Now I have deleted the project and other in the solution and created a new one and still this error and if I take the 'something' name away I get the cannot load default error.

.net - Write A .NETCF Partial Class To Extend System.Windows.Forms.UserControl?

May 28, 2010

I'm writing a .NET CF (VBNET 2008 3.5 SP1) application, which has one master form, and it dynamically loads specific UserControls based on menu click, in a sort of framework idea. There are certain methods and properties these controls all need to work within the app. Right now I am doing this as an Interface, but this is aggravating as all get up, because some of the methods are optional, and yet I MUST implement them by the nature of interfaces.

Extend Primitive Types Such As System.String And System.Int32?

Jul 25, 2010

Is it possible to extend primitive types such as System.String and System.Int32 (IE: integer) in .Net 4 and if so how?

To be more specific, I am aware of the concept of partial classes but this doesnt seem to be the answer. Also I find that System.String is not inheritable and Int32 is a structure.

Lastly I am interested in knowing both a VB.Net and C# answer to the above question.

Interface And Graphics :: Making A Custom Class That Mocks The System.Drawing.Rectangle Class?

I'm making a custom class that mocks the System.Drawing.Rectangle class because the Rectangle class doesn't have a name property. I need a name property because I am adding all of my rectangles to a collection and I need a little more info stored than just their locale and size. So I changed the _onPaint event but nothing is working out when I run the program?

Asp.net - .Net Iniatialising A Class Using System.Reflection And System.Type To Create A Session Based Singlton Extension Method

Jun 11, 2009

I have had several occasions recently to access a specific class several times over a relatively small time frame. So I've been storing the value of the class in Session and trying to access it on page load, if it's not available creating a new instance and storing that in session.

So instead of constantly replicating the same code for different classes on different pages I'm trying to create an extension method to do this for me.

[Code]...

I'm stuck on what to do when I make my new instance of my class (it would have to have a New() sub)

I'm not sure where to go from here... or even if this is the best way to do it.

Unable To Cast COM Object Of Type 'System.__ComObject' To Class Type 'System.Xml.XmlNode'

Jul 30, 2009

Code: Dim dom As New DOMDocument30 dom.async = False
dom.Load(serverAddress & "/App/filelist.jsp?type=content")
For i = 0 To dom.childNodes.item(1).childNodes.length - 1 downloadfile(dom.childNodes.item(i), mcount, currentpath) Next

The above code is activated upon clicking of a button. i have the server address declared. and using the domdoc to load the jsp file to generate the xml data. and using for loop, i call the download file function which accepts the following parameters

Code:Public Sub downloadfile(ByVal domdoc As Xml.XmlNode, ByVal totalcount As Integer, ByVal currentpath As String)

The totalcount and currentpath work fine, but when i pass in the dom.childNodes.item(i) , error pops up.

Asp.net - Get Value From Master Page Into Class?

Apr 23, 2012

I ve a masterpage(myMaster) where I ve a variable(lets call is myInteger) I want to access in an external class.

Usually I just do that in my aspx: <%@ MasterType VirtualPath="myMaster.master" %>

And then I can access to it in my code behind doing: Master.myInteger ...

My issue here is I want to access it in another class(where there is no .aspx)

I tried doing

Master.MasterPageFile = "~/myMaster.master"
Master.AppRelativeVirtualPath = "myMaster.master"

but then Master.myInteger isnt recognized.

.net - Convert A WPF Page Path To A Class Name?

Mar 5, 2009

I have an application which pulls xaml page paths from a database. I can then use a navigationservice to navigate to the relevant page when need be. However, I have run into a scenario where I would like to instantiate the page with a specific constructor before navigating to that page.

Is it possible to take a string value such as "PagesMyPage.xaml" at runtime and create an object MyPage? Obviously, I could do this with a switch statement on the page path, but I would like it to be a whole lot more dynamic than that.

C# - ASP.NET Partial Page Class Names?

Mar 29, 2009

When you create a new asp.net page in VS 2008 and choose code behind, it also creates the typical aspx.vb or aspx.cs file to go along with it.

At the top of those files, VS names the 'Partial Class' name the file structure and/or name of the aspx file.

The question: Is there a best practice for this? Can I just use a single class name for all the pages in my application or perhaps a single directory instead of having to give each one a unique name?

Extend Program So It Has Subtraction As Well?

Oct 15, 2009

Remember this from before?

Quote:

Since you are repeating same operation three times it is best to make a function for it.

CODE:

labels 1-6 are randomly generated numbers, text boxes 1-3 are the input boxes and the code above shows how if the answer in the textbox equals the labels added together, you win. This code works -

I have created labels 7-12 now, and textboxes 4-6. How can I extend this program so it has subtraction as well?

If this problem definition isn't detailed enough, let me know and I'll add more detail to this description.
