Asp.net - Textarea Text Into Sql Column?

If I use a textbox I have no issues getting data into sql. I'd like to use a textarea with autowrap and all that. But when I change the <input type="text" id="au_id"> to <textarea name="au_id"> I can't get the .value of au_id.Value code listed below. All I want is to swap single line text box for multiline textarea and still onclick get my lines posted in sql. Some of the names/id's make no sense for what they go to, I copied most of the code from Microsoft's site, and making changes as I go.

I have the HTML (I think its javascript) code below that is from the webapge.
I want to pass something from my textarea on my form, to the text area on the webpage, and then pres the submit button the webpage.
I cant seem to find a control that locates the textarea or button..

I have two text files, the first text file has two columns separated by a space (" ") and the second text file only has one column.
The column 1 in text file 1 and text file 2 match albeit in different order, what I'm trying to achieve is for every field in column 1 text file 2 I want to search for column 1 in text file 1 and display the matching column 2 field in column 2 text file 2.

I've got an asp:TextArea that I would like to do some processing (filtering a list) as the user types. I'm sure I could do the filtering within a javascript function called via the onkeyup event, but I'd prefer to do it in my VB.NET code.Is it possible to do such a thing, or should I just stick with the Javascript? If the latter, could you please explain why?

I have a multi-line textBox disabled through vb.net :
myTxtA.enabled= false
The html it outputs :
<textarea name="myTxtA" rows="10" id="myTxtA" disabled="disabled" style="width:99%;">
...
</textarea>
That's the source code I get through the browser but the textArea is still editable in the browser. There is no javascript modifying myTxtA, and the only other reference to myTxtA in my codeFile is the following :
If somethingNotHappeningHere Then
myTxtA.ReadOnly = True
End If
I can't see why my textarea is still editable. Can the class of the div containing the textArea modify its behaviour ?
PS: I am not concerned about if the data is sent or not. I'm just looking for the textArea to be uneditable.
Edit: Same problem on IE7 and Firefox 3.5
Edit 2: When I copy all the html source from my browser into a new html file the textarea is properly disabled...

I know this sounds like a simple thing but I have searched and all examples have not helped. I have been unable to update the textarea at I have gotten the code to work at other sites though.So specifically I want to update the "post a new thread" textarea. If you go toand then signup (you need an account to post a new thread). Then go to any forum and click "NewThread".I then can update the subject field but the textarea (name="message") does not update with the value. I am not sure why it doesn't work when I have got this working on a lot of other sites.

I have several <asp:TextBox TextMode="MultiLine"> elements on a page. On load, I populate them (through the VB code behind), and then turn them into TinyMCE editors (through the Query TinyMCE plugin). Each text box also has a button associated with it, with the purpose of submitting the text back to the code behind for insertion into a database.I discovered earlier that when the submit button is clicked, I have to "save" the contents of the editor to the text box, but that is not my problem. Even after I've done so, the edits are not showing up in the code behind.As I've mentioned, I'm using jQuery. Here is my click handler. Keep in mind that all buttons are submit buttons in ASP.NET, hence the submit class:

I have column with bit datatype in sql server table(2008).while returing to text box its returning true in text box instead of 1.i tried converting it from true to 1 using txtboolvalue.text=Math.abs(CINT(ReturnList.Item(34)).tostring. But it doesnt convert true to 1

I have created a program that reads data from a text file. The file has four columns /fields separated by "," The first three columns are strings, the fouth column's value is an integer. I need to be able to sum the data that is in the fourth column. The file has 700 rows. I have tried using the split function to split the columns on each line. Does any one know how I can compare the numeric value of a text box on my Visual Basic 2008 form to the values in a particular column of a SQL database table? Things seem to work fine with bound controls when there are related records in the child table, but if a value is selected that has no related child records the form continues to display old information from the last record viewed. I would prefer to have the fields on the form go blank.

I have a windows application with many forms. We use the DataGridView control on most of the forms, but on a new form that I designed I have four DataGridViews. All of the DataGridViews on this form do not dipaly the Column Header Text when the form is displayed when running in the IDE. I do not receive any errors or messages. The other DataGridVeiws on other forms display their column header text just fine. I am at a loss as to why this is happining on this form.
UPDATE: If I add the desired text to the column.HeaderText property at the end of the form load event it displays the column header text. For example AssignedAmountColumn.HeaderText = "Amount" it displays Amount in the column when run from the IDE.... However it dosn't display when the property is set though the Columns property at design time.

I have a text box for user to enter row and column and also text box for the user to enter initial value of X and Y. It should work like that. If have 10 lines then user will input row =2 and column=5. Row always will be 2. Initial value for X=100 Y=100. The first line should be 100 100 which is initial value.
My output will be like this

The X value must plust with 2 until X=column meanwhile Y remain unchange . then at 6th column which is second row X=100 Y will be intial value of Y+2=102 the the same process will be repeat for second row.

Now I don't want to depend on the column value which is input by the user. I want to do automatically.Let say If my text file contain 131 lines. Since my row will be 2 which is fixed so it should take 66 lines as first row and 65 lines as second row and do the process that I explain above. If line is 132 then it will be 66 for first row and 66 for second row.
