C# - Where Does Dataadapter Will Find Its Sqlparameters Information From

I have a table, I add a dataadapter to it and it has all the commands. There are lists of paramters for update,insert and delete. I wonder where does the Visual Studio find the related informatio on the size of the parameter? Since I believe it is reading from a wrong place or I did not set someting correctly. While the corresponding NvarChar column in dataset and database table is having the size of 20, in dataadapter it is all 0!

I have the seperate sql commands that will use the same parameters from a database. I can add the parameters to 1 of the commands, but when I add them to the others I get an error.
dim updateCmd as new sqlcommand("USP_TableUpdate", myConn) with {.commandtype = commandtype.storedprocedure}

I was looking at a tutorial for SQLParameters and apparently I need to Import something for my code to work.I downloaded Microsoft Patterns and Practices a couple of weeks ago, and have been using that but I can't figure out what I need to Import for the VB.NET code on this website to work:[URL] Of course, I'll me modifying that to what I need it to do but at present I'm just after an understanding of how it works, but I've got no clue what to do about Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SQLHelper, where do I find it?

why the size of all SqlParameters generated by VS2010 are set to 0, while when I look in the dataset all the columns are set to different sizes but when I read it from sqldataadapter they are all set to 0. Isn't it going to make some other issues in future? I mean, I have many sqlparameter with NVarChar types that they are generated by VS2010 and the size is 0!

way to create and initialize SqlParameters in VB.NET? Using 3 lines per variable seems quite excessive. Unfortunately the constructors for this class are rather ridiculous, so I'm thinking of just writing my own sub for initializing each parameter. This is how I've been doing it.

It seems very difficult to find information on the use of DirectX with Visual Basic. MSDN gives a full list of methods, properties, enums etc but very little in the way of code examples. C++ and C# are better served.Why is Visual Basic (a terrific coding platform) so neglected in this area?

It seems difficult to find good information on working with bitmaps. Specifically I am looking for .NET info on getting tile graphics to the screen. What I know so far is this. I need a picturebox for the display. I need a second picture box for a back buffer and then I need a third picturebox for the tiles that I would copy to the back buffer which then gets flipped to the screen.I need this to be done with .net controls and classes or functions and etc. If anyone has good information on this, please let me know. I am using visual basic 2008 express edition.

The program is currently trying to pull information from three different database tables and compiling the information onto one screen, to do this i am using three different connections and a function to handle the data at each stage. The issue is as my code hits PageLoadStage of "2" and runs the QueryDatabase() Function i am encountering an error of: "OleDB exception unhandled: No value given for one or more of the required parameters." This occurs on line 15 of the first code snippet. Can anyone explain this and/or identify any code issues if that is the cause.

I have a text box where i am entering numbers of double datatype andon the Keytdown event of the textbox some checks take pace and in certain circumstances I want to be able to stop the user from entering other information until they enter the right information in the textbox (where it says right here) . now when I say exit sub the textbox somehow loses focus . but this is not how I want it to be I want the textbox to remain with the focus so the user can change the information . How can i go about this. And the other thing is why is my txtDestPayRate1.Focus() just befor the exit sub not working?

This should be a fairly simple one. I am creating a dataset which will contain a description field which I would like to sort by. The reason I want to sort the dataadapter and not in my SQL is that I am already ordering by the results that have a particular value.My SQL looks like this:
SELECT pif_desc, pif_fund, psf_end, (CASE WHEN SUM(pmi_units) IS Null THEN 0 ELSE SUM(pmi_units) END) As fundunits

I have been researching all that is related to DataSources, DataReaders, DataAdapters, etc, with an Access 2010 DB bound to a DataGridView.
Everything is fine, just one line fails and is driving me nuts Here is the code:

The line that fails, actually updates my database, but somehow, the update is not performed on the line that belongs to the first row of the grid. What is more, if I change the value manually, the same update method works fine. What is going on here?

I'm trying to create a form that uses controls that are bound at runtime. All the data objects are declared at the form level. The Select statement includes the two fields that make up the PK form the table. The Owing_Company data displays in the bound control. I can change the text and in Save_Click the RowState is Modified and Row!Owning_company has the changed data. DsForm.HasChanges is False. A simple call in Save_Click daForm.Update(dsForm) does not change the DB. If I update the Row!Owning_Company in code dsForm.HasChanges is now true and daForm.Update changes the data. What am I missing that allows changes made via the bound control to modify the DataSet?
