CURL HTTP Post For Visual Basic 2010?
Oct 7, 2010
Is it possible to use cURL and HTTP POST for visual basic?I am trying to make software version of my script to a client..I've created a system in PHP but I also want to let them use a software to post stuffs.
So the first thing I need is to login.
This is my form:
PHP
<form action="dologin.php" method="post">
Username: <input name="myusername" type="text"><br>
Password: <input name="mypassword" type="password"><br>
<input name="submit" type="submit">
</form>
How do I use VB to post my username and password to login?I tried download libcURL but i still do not get the gist from the example.Because usually u will need to define the field name of the post to execute the code. eg (myusername, mypassword)

I am sending an XML file via HTTP POST using Visual Basics 2005. The site this is being sent to requires a header containing the lenth of the file (I've got that part) and Authorization. The Aurthorization is to consist of Basic Authentication in the form of "Basic xxxx", where the xxxx = "username:password", base64 encoded. The username and password are provided by the site the information is going to, so they do not match the user's login to the operating system or application.
What is the best way to attach the authorization to the file being sent? Does it need to be encoded and then placed in the header, or is there something that will do it all in one step. I can't seem to find a way to do this as all the information I have found either uses the default username and password, or the authorization is not in the form that I am needing.

Does anybody know which version of Visual Studio 2010 contains the full set of Visual Basic SharePoint Templates? I am about to embark on a project to create Visual Web Parts to be used in a SharePoint report.
At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates
Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation.So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?

I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.

I've an annoying ASP.NET problem:
I have a Perl script (see below), which gets the form_info variable. Now unfortunately, it's http POST, and not http GET, so Request.Querystring doesn't work...
Now I have to replace the Perl Script with an asp.net page/app, but my problem is that I cannot process the string form_info when I don't have the string... and I cannot change the http POST to a HTTP get, since it's generated by a 3rd party java applet.
# Print out a content-type for HTTP/1.0 compatibility
print "Content-type: text/html
";

To reproduce the error I'm getting:Create a new Visual Studio 2010 ASP.NET web site in Visual Basic, targeting .NET 2.0Type "Public Property Test As String" Observe "Visual Basic 9.0 does not support auto-implemented properties." error Visual Studio 2010 is happy to use VB 10 against .NET 2.0-targeted Windows Forms applications, this only appears to be an issue with ASP.NET.Is there a way to force Visual Studio 2010 to use VB 10 when targeting .NET 2.0?

I am currently working on a personal project with hopes of using VB.NET 2008 to connect to my personal forum for use of both authentications into the program and group changes. People in my forum are based on ranks, the ranks are organized via the groups in the forum so if one person gains a rank they need to be taken out of one group and placed into another. With multiple people this is a process and presents a security risk should someone get kicked out but accidently be left in a group giving them access.
For the time being, I need to be able to post the headers to the forum to login and parse the response. I have tried many times and Im currently trying this using the chilkat dll as a reference which allows me to send headers and see the response, but the response is always the failure to login page. The headers are as follows:

Anyways, I am attempting to write something that will contact a vendor's server and I have been reading their documentation. They say that I need to submit a HTTP POST request, but I must also submit some configurations via an HTTP GET also.
