May 29, 2010Im trying to calculate TextBox values, but asnwer = 0. I think strings are too big/long.
Example : TextBox1.Text is 0.2777777777 and TextBox2.text = 60
TextBox3.text = Val(TextBox1.Text) * Val(TextBox2.text)
then TextBox3 Text is 0.

Apr 21, 2012I have to calculate values of several equations in an application. For example, one these equations could be:
d = a + b*z + c*z (this is what is being displayed to the user, assume that 'a', 'b' and 'c' are provided as textboxes, assume that z is a hardcoded value for now)
Now, the user could enter a=1.5, b= -0.5 and c = -0.6 (or even 'a' could be negative). So, I just tried a sample code for simple values but to no avail...

Calculating Values On A Form And Rounding?
Aug 6, 2009With the application i'm building i have to do some calculating, ive so far not had to do anything like this so i could use some pointers. Here's the simplist of calculation i have to do, if i could get some help pointing me in the right direction i could probabaly figure the rest out.
It would be Box1value * box2value / 144 = box3 But if box 3 returns a value of less than 2.5 it rounds up. The rounding function is very important to subsequent calculations i will have to make.
So the this simple form would work where the user inputs a number into box one and two and the calulation appears in box 3. Attached is a mockup of the form design.

Calculating Elapsed Time Based Upon Two Values
Jun 26, 2005I have one text box that contains a value for the "Start Time" and another text box that contains a value for the "End Time."Both of the values are expressed in a format for military time (i.e. 1200, 1300, 1430, etc.).When the "End Time" text box loses focus, I would like the "Elasped Time" (expressed in minutes) to appear in a third text box.Seems easy enough...right?Well the problem I'm having is since the first two numbers in military time are base 24 and the last two numbers are base 60, a standard calculation subtracting the "End Time" from the "Start Time" does not yield an accurate result.

Jun 1, 2010I have a monthly forecast showing expense accounts by cost centre so columns headings look like:
Cost Centre, Account Number, Jan, Feb, Mar etc
Using VBA code to automate the process, I need to calculate the total for each month of each account number where the 2 left characters of the cost centre are the same. I have a formula which will calculate this (for one cost centre grouping/account) which looks like this:
=SUMPRODUCT((LEFT('Sheet2'!A6:A5136,2)="BE")*('Sheet2'!C6:C5136=AccountNumber)*('Sheet2'!D6:D5136))
I am not sure whether there is a more efficient way than using a formula like that (at the moment this would be used for 12 months on about 6 cost centre groupings with about 500 accounts each - though this would vary). Its not massive, but could be slow to calculate. I don't think the subtotals command is powerful enough, and I haven't used arrays for a long time (especially for what would appear to need a dynamic, mulch-dimensional array).

Dec 1, 2010I have an application in which I have two text boxes in which I enter name and age, after I enter the name and age then I click the Add button when I click the add button then the Name and the age should be displayed on the Datagrid contol in the same application. But the data should not get saved in the Database, it should just show the data on the Datagrid contol. And they have told me that its mandatory that I have to use the DataTable object.
And when i click the Commit Changes then only the data should get saved to the Data base...This i can do .

Sep 25, 2011I have a Datagrid with 5 columns, one of those columns is the only one to have fixed values.Let's put this in a simple way, that column (lets name it column A) contains rows with values from one to ten.With an API call I get some information, lets say I got this:
1 - Andrew - 1.8
8 - Peter - 2.8
Something like this.The first number is equal to the value on the column A, the other two are name and height. I will note receive all the values (one to ten) with call or full information relating to all the columns.How can I assign the information I receive to the proper row based on one of the value I get with the call? Another thing, I will have to create a lot of rows, do I need to add them row by row?

Mar 23, 2010I am using vb.net and WPF. In a wpf window I am showing a datagrid in the load event while in the load event itself, I need to count grand total amount from a single datagrid column and add it to a textbox in same page .
My page looks like this:
My DataGrid:
Item Quantity Total
Shirt 2 200
Pant 1 500
Tie - -
Belt 2 100
My Textbox ---> Grand Total amount : - 800
How do I do that if I am counting from a ((Total Column )) DTG
And adding it and showing it in my (( GRAND TOTAL AMOUNT)) TEXTBOX
