How To Change Forecolor & Backcolor Of TextBox With A ComboBox
Dec 6, 2011The title says it all, I'm having some difficulties with the combobox, The items in the list are "Black & Green" - Black will be the Backcolor of a Text box, and Green will be the Forecolor.The App I made is just a Mimic of a CMD, and replicates the output of the command into the Textbox. It's 100% complete, but I'd love it to have the ability to have different colors to choose rather than White and Black.

Now, the problem is that when I click on Button1 on Form3 it shows Form2 but the Form2 BackColor is not red, it is default color, A.K.A Control Color. But I specified in Button1 on Form1 that Form2.BackColor is Red. And also if I click on Button1 on Form2 when Form3 shows it, the Form3 BackColor is also default, it is not red.
I know one way to solve it but it is so not-professional. It is that you add on Button1 on Form2 this:
Form3.BackColor = Color.Red
and on Button1 on Form3 this:
Form2.BackColor = Color.Red
It is ok in this situation but what if I have more stuff, for example if I have an option for changing theme so it has to change all labels and buttons ForeColor, what then, is there any other way?

Feb 9, 2009I am trying to change the forecolor and backcolor of the column headers in a ListView and I have been able to change the background color; however, now the text has disappeared (the text that shows up in the column headers). How do I go about specifying Color.Argb(193, 218, 248) as the text color? Please advise as I have searched all night online and have not been successful as of yet.

Not Getting Highlighted After Moving An Item Up In Listbox?
Aug 19, 2009I have a listbox List1 in Form2 and the items are populated to it from another form Form1. In form2 i have created a button named btnUP. When we click the btnUP then the highlighted selected item in the listbox moves one level up. this is working fine.
The problem is only the value is moving up but not the highlight.
i have also set the setselect property to true "List1.SetSelected(i - 1, True)" but no use ("List1.selectionmode = one" )
don know wat is wrong with the code.But it is not working

How To Change ForeColor Of Some Items In ListBox
Oct 23, 2011I am developing an attendance count system, where all the registered student in a class are shown in a listbox. But I want to show name of the students who are currently present in a may be GREEN color, and all other students in RED color by default. I can get the index of a each items but controlling only some of the items seems difficult to me.
Say list is looking this way,
Ataur
Warda
Bappy
Devid
Lina
Now only ataur and bappy are present, [I received a string data from my hardware that confirms that they are in present ] from the database I can get the their id and from the listBox I can get the index as well. Now how do I change the forColor of only these two not others?

Feb 27, 2009I've turned the web upside down looking for a way to do this.The only thing I found(although I couldn't get it to work) was the example from the documentation, and it's more code than there is in my program to begin with.
There has to be a simply method of changing the BackColor of the selected item in the ListView details view.I know it's selected when you click on it, and you can press the up/down arrow keys and it'll scroll through the items.
I just want to change the backcolor from the default dark blue to something else, with a line or two of code.
Alpha On ListViewItem ForeColor / BackColor?
May 25, 2009I've been tingling with the colors of listviewitems.For the most part, they work great, but I can't set alpha:
Me.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(100, 40, 40, 40)
Me.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(1, 255, 255, 255)
Me.BackColor = Color.FromArgb(100, 40, 40, 40)
Me.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(100, 255, 255, 255)
The result of any of these two lines is exactly the same ( no change in alpha ). The colors take ok though.

Mar 9, 2011I'm making a small program in VB.NET. I have a listBox and a button. I'd like to be able to press the button and have the selected listBox item change it's foreColor to green. I've tried many ways of doing this, ranging from overriding the draw method to using a listView (listBox is much better for what I'm doing, please don't recommend that I use a listView, I've already tried it.)At first I thought this would be simple, but it's the exact opposite and I'm very frustrated that such a simple task should be so difficult. I don't want to use any third-party controls, as I'd have to completely re-write my application.

Oct 14, 2011i have a listbox that contains the words "week1", "week2",all the way up to "week52" and when i select a week from the listbox it will retrieve a value from a mysql database that will represent a progress bar value. my progress bar has a range of 0-120 and i would like to have all the weeks that have values higher than 100 to be highlighted or marked somehow, in the listbox. so my question is, "is there a way to set the background color of certain weeks in the listbox to orange based on the value that they represent on the database?
for example for "week1", the value is 114, so when the listbox loads, i want the background color of the item "week1" in the list to be orange (indicating that it's current value is higher than 100)? i know that this requires me to implement a user defined drawing function for the listbox items but i dont know where i would even start. i would like this to be somewhat automatic so that it checks the values and changes the background colors of any value higher than 100, instead of me specifying a name of the item.

For example: I associate ContextMenuStrip1 with TextBox1.ContextMenuStrip1 contains 5 items with names:
