View 2 RepliesI have a datagridview and I have set the highlight property to full row, I also have a link column in my grid. my problem is, when I click on a row it get highlighted blue, but the link color is also blue so it becomes very hard to read. is there a way other than manually setting the cell forecolor to handle this issue?

I have a project due tonight and suddenly 2 of my datagridviews are acting funky while the others are fine.
I have 2 tables in an sqlce db. the first is books(id, title, copyright) and the next is publisher(id, name, bookid). I'm writing a vb.net frontend to access the data.
I have data bound datagridviews for both tables. Both have their respective ID columns hidden. The publisher dgv uses a combobox cell style to display the book title in the bookid column. So far so good.
I have suddenly run into a problem where if I have clicked in a cell on the books dgv and then click a cell on another row, the title changes to the id value. The publisher dgv also updates to show the id instead of the title.
It sounds to me like there may be a problem with the booktableadapter or bookbindingsource, but I don't know where to start looking for it. I have a 3rd dgv referencing an unrelated table, and it has no problems. The code for both the working and problematic dgvs are the same (only the control names are different).
As I have no idea on how to retrieve access data at the specific location in the table, so I wrote VBA code t export the entire access database to a datagridview which is located in the form1. There's a column of datagridview contain complete address information of a image. I'm thinking a way to link image source (of form 2 or xaml file) to the the column so that the image will be displayed. is there any code to get cell value at the specific location in the table? In excel VBA, sheets("Sheetname").Cells(rownumber, columnnumber).value is used to get the cell value, but how about code for this case?
View 2 RepliesBy default, the DataGridView padding (.ColumnHeadersDefaultCellStyle.Padding and .DefaultCellStyle.Padding) is set to 0 (zero). However, when you run the application and look at what's in the DataGridView control, there is default padding of 3 pixels (Left) in the data cells and a default padding of 7 pixels (also Left) in the header cells. I don't seem to have any control over these 3 and 7 pixel offsets. For Top, Bottom, and Right, there are similar or greater pixel offsets that I also don't seem to have access to. I want to be able to specify exactly the pixel offset I want, assuming a default pixel offset of 0 (not 3 and 7).

View 3 RepliesIs there an "easy" way to change a control's ForeColor when it is diabled? Yes, I know that this goes against the Windows standard.
On our forms, we have buttons with a dark blue background and a white foreground (the design is dictated by marketing). When the buttons become disabled, the ForeColor goes to a dark color making the button unreadable.
I'm making a C++ code editor application using VB.NET. I'd like to change the color of the keywords as the user types it. Also I'm looking for a way to highlight some lines of the code.
Is there a way to change the forecolor and backcolour of a piece of text inside a textbox or a rich textbox?
I have an ap that requires the user to fill in information in certain areas in a richtext box. The areas that the user needs to complete is colored blue. To give the user some cue that input is required, I would like to change the mouse pointer when the pointer moves over blue text in the rtb.

i want to change the forecolor of that specific cell to either green or red, depending whether the number is positive or negative...
i cant figure this out, and i have searched on the web...not really seeing anything that makes sense...
I have a custom datagridview. I have to set the forecolor of a row not change when it got focus. SelectionMode is FullRowSelect.
View 2 RepliesI've found my life greatly eased by having given up on ListView. DataGridView is by far the better way to go. I wish I listened early on to the suggestion of someone here who recommended it. Chalk up another failure to my stubbornness. However, while I can set the ForeColor of an individual cell using GridV.Item(a, b).Style.ForeColor,[code]All these work without a hitch. But when I want to set the text of a given column to a desired color, GridV.Columns(a).DefaultCellStyle.ForeColor is completely ignored.Upon investigating further, I discovered that exactly the same behavior as described above is also true for setting the text and back color for Rows.If I have to, I'll succumb to using GridV.Item(a, b).Style.ForeColor, though this adds unnecessary complication to the code. But I'd like to know why I'm unable to set the text color of a column or row programmatically and get that working.
View 17 RepliesHave this code so that when a checkbox in a column of my datagridview is checked, then the corresponding cell in column 2 (of the same row the check box is in) will turn blue with font color white.

I'd also like to add a line so that as well as the cell going blue, the bottom border of the cell disappears, so cellborderstyle = none.
I have a DataGridView with several columns. One column is a TextBox column named "Status". This column can only show one of three values: 'Final', 'Ready', or 'No Reportable'. I want to have some code that would turn the TextBox cell into a ComboBox cell when the user left-clicks on the cell to allow the user to choose one of these three options. When the user clicks elsewhere or the cell loses focus I want the cell to change back to a TextBox cell.
Here is what I have so far, but the code throws an exception indicated below Plus, I don't think the code would remove the combobox when the cell loses focus.

View 5 RepliesI am making a application that manages room availability in a building.I have seen a similar function in another application that I'm trying to duplicate. I want to have a control, which I assume is the DataGridView that shows the room numbers on the left hand side, and then on the right it shows a box in that room numbers row for every day that the room is occupied. If it is occupied for more than one day, the box is joined. What control are they using? How do I link one row cell across multiple columns?

View 9 RepliesI can now navigate to pages, fill forms, submit forms, click elements etc.My next big step will be collecting html element ID's which are constantly different each time I navigate to a page.On the webpage I am working on, each page contains 10 of these ID's.
ill_btn_20234518
ill_btn_20534538
ill_btn_20174048
Now I am just looking to click on one of them at random for right now. It doesn't matter which one. Or perhaps the first one to appear on the webpage. Here is the code that I tried first........it works fine for clicking static buttons (without the random id #'s at the end)
Dim ill As HtmlElement = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("ill_btn_")
ill.InvokeMember("click")
End Sub
I guess what I am looking for here is some sort of partial id tag, to let it know to search for the first ID that begins with ill_btn_ ?
I'm trying to change the default icon of my program to something else. Specifcally, the one that is associated with the executable file.I was under the impression that if you set the icon property on the main form, that it will carry over to everything else. when I try to set the icon, I get an error message stating that "The arugment 'picture' must be a picture that can be used as an icon. I have a 32x32 icon that is saves as .ico but it doesn't work.
