I have an ap that requires the user to fill in information in certain areas in a richtext box. The areas that the user needs to complete is colored blue. To give the user some cue that input is required, I would like to change the mouse pointer when the pointer moves over blue text in the rtb.

Is there a way to change the forecolor and backcolour of a piece of text inside a textbox or a rich textbox?
It's purpose is as follows:It basically is a "check list" for installed program's, and files. I image machines on a daily basis, and me making this application will save me hours, and hours of time.The basics:My program basically has 2 forms. 1st form, will be tabbed with "clients" or, different model of PC's. Each tab will have it's own checklist. I know how to pull external files already, though, that's not my issue.Basically, when I click "check list" button, it searches for an "adobe", and "Labtech" Directory. If it exists, it will throw the result into form2.richtextbox as Adobe is installed, or Adobe is not installed. Also, Checks if the second program directory is there, and then imports the info into form2.richtextbox on a seperate line. My question is, how do I change the color of the text per line?I.e. make Adobe is installed turn GREEN, and Adobe is not installed turn RED ect.

that is my code.. my problem is in my richtextbox1, there are many line that contain "Not Found". So how can i change colour for all of that text to red colour? my code only work only with a single line that contain "Not Found".
Is there an "easy" way to change a control's ForeColor when it is diabled? Yes, I know that this goes against the Windows standard.
On our forms, we have buttons with a dark blue background and a white foreground (the design is dictated by marketing). When the buttons become disabled, the ForeColor goes to a dark color making the button unreadable.
Is There any way of changing the forecolor of a link cell in a datagridview instead of the default blue?

What I want to do is set a font and then any text added to the richtextbox will use that font. Then I want to set another font and all text after that point will use that font and so on. I'm adding text to the RichTextBox with code, but I'd eventually like to add a RichTexBox to an app where the user enters the text and can change fonts like a word processor.What I'm try to accomplish would go something like this:

I have a richtextbox with multiple colored text in it. When I change the font, the color table is removed and everything changes to the default fore color. Anyone know of a why to preserve the color table and formatting when changing the font? I know I could build the RTF manually, but I really want to avoid that if possible.

I declare 2 tab pages and add them to a tab control. These 2 tab pages have different texts: Products and Support and the text's forecolor is black. At design time, everything is ok but during the run time, I cannot see the text of labels / groupboxes.
in my application the user selects names from a combo box one at a time and then sets a schedule for each person. What I would like to do is change the forecolor of the selected name so when the combo box is clicked again any name that has been selected is red, and unselected names are still black. I have only been able to set the forecolor for all the name after a selection is made.

I have a richtextbox control. It contains many lines of text (multiline is enabled). My goal is: When user clicks with right-click mouse, I'd like to display all the text of the line where the cursor is. I'm using this method to get the cursor's line:

I have a text box called "txtDescription" and listbox called "lstDetails" and a RichTextBox called "rttFullDes.
When the User inputs the search query into the description box(txtDescription) e.g "books" then it returns all the records that contains the word "books" and displays their Id in the listbox(lstDetails). When you click on the IDs it returns the full description in the Description box(rttFullDes)
This all works fine. But i want all the words to be hightlighted. i have got this code which i found.

I searched this topic and set RichTextBox1.SelectionColor = Color.Red after click button1, and set RichTextBox1.SelectionColor = Color.DarkBlue for button 2 click event. But after I clicked either button, the text color was always black as forecolor set.

I want to change this, but can't figure out where that setting is. How to rename that setting so that it says "Welcome to the Wonderful Program setup wizard" instead?
View 6 RepliesI've got a theme system in my program that works excellently. The only issue I'm running into with it is that the Forecolor of the menustrip and statusstrip remain at the default white. Even when I add in a button to change it manually for debugging, nothing happens and it remains white. There's no code that would change it, and I've replaced the menustrip just in case something was wrong with the control, but no dice.
I even tested it in another project, and it worked fine. Within my theme designed, the preview menustrip's forecolor changes fine as well. Something's wrong and is making it so that I can't change the menustrip/statusstrip's forecolor :I
