View 1 RepliesUsing 2 forms how would I click one button, from another form? ie In VB 4,5,6, I would used to do it as:-
Form 1:
private sub Command1_Click()
msgbox "Say Hello"
End Sub[code].....
If I clicked the button in form2, it would automaticlly, click the button in form1. Do I, do it the same way in VB Express or has it changed?
I have numerous buttons on a form, one each to select a playing card (52 buttons). When the Card(button) is selected I want to highlight it by changing the border from black to Red, then if reclicked from change back from red to black, easy enough (if then else). So that I do not have to copy this code 52 times I wanted to create a module as follows:
Sub ChangeButtonBorderColor(ByRef ButtonName)
If (Equals(ButtonName.BorderBrush, Brushes.Red)) Then
ButtonName.BorderBrush = Brushes.Black

How to make a link button visible after another button has been clicked in asp.net(vb) in button_click()

i've done this in my code

Dim receipt As LinkButton = FormView1.FindControl("LinkButton1")

I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already.But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.

inside of while loop, i've used

how can i check if ok was clicked in a inputbox? works fine with msgbox:
Dim Confirm = MsgBox("Are you sure?", MsgBoxStyle.Question + MsgBoxStyle.YesNo, "Action Confirmation")
If Confirm = MsgBoxResult.Yes Then

End If
but it returns an error with inputbox Conversion from string "" to type 'Double' is not valid.
I built an app in VB 2008 Express.I have published it by using the Publish tab of the project properties dialog. In other parts of the publish dialog, I have successfully associated a file extension (.xyz) with my app. To finally publish it, I click the Publish Now button, not the Publish Wizard.The app publishes fine, and after installing it by clicking on the resulting Setup.exe file, it runs fine. The app creates a .xyz file (essentially a text file). I then close the app. In Windows Explorer, I can see the .xyz file with my custom icon. When I double click on the .xyz file, my app starts up.So far so good.
Now I need to implement reading the contents of the .xyz file in my main form's load event.I thought it was going to be easy by following a snippet to read the command line, and with the knowledge that the filename clicked on is the first argument (item 0 of the argument collection).So I started testing like this:
Dim strMessage As String
strMessage = "Count: " & My.Application.CommandLineArgs.Count & vbCrLf
For Each argument As String In My.Application.CommandLineArgs[code]....
So, is the method I'm using to deploy considered Click Once? Note that I am not online-enabling anything, so I am hoping I don't need to get into the ActivationUri learning curve, which seems to be about URL's.How can I simply get the name of the associated file double clicked on into my VB.net app?
Let's say I have a PictureBox with an image of a house, for example, and I want to know if the user clicked on the roof, the door, the window, or the walls.
Is there some way to, maybe, set up an If statement so that it checks what the coordinates of the mouse click was and compares it to a set of pre-determined graphed points to decide what object was clicked?[code]....
In my app, I use checkboxes to keep track of days selected that an employee wants to work. Right now I use the CheckBox_KeyDown event to use the enter key.. While testing the app, I found if the user clicks on the text of the checkbox using the mouse, though it doesn't show the click, it is counted as a click .

I have beginner skills using VB (am using the Express edition to learn). I would like to know how to set up a conditional statement in a Windows Form (WF) app that would check if a specific command line has been passed by another separate app that launchesthe Windows Form app using command lines, and if not passed, then the Windows Form app would shut down (exit, close).So far, I can use:
For Each s As String In My.Application.CommandLineArgs
If s <> "xyz" Then
Me.Close()

I am fairly new to vb.net and the form includes 3 picture boxes in red which you can click and change their color to green, also each picture box have three text box associated with it and they are by default color dark gray. I want the system to check whether the picture boxes are clicked and if yes set the associated text box colours to white.
Here is the code I wrote:
Public Class Screen
Inherits Windows.Forms.Form
Dim T(1, 2) As TextBox
Dim S(2) As PictureBox
Dim x, i, j As Integer
[Code] .....
i have a form with 10 designated slots for letter to be entered (Like the free letter spaces on hangman), above these are 10 adjacent labels with a full stop "." as the text value, now i have created a button, Q to detect whether there is a. in the first box, and if there is enter the letter Q (Letter1.text = "Q"), elseif check the same for the second box. Now my problem is when i click the button, it still does nothing and letter 1 remains "." instead of "Q". also how would i end this string of else ifs? as in what if every text box is full then do what?
View 2 RepliesI am developing an application in which there are more than one buttons and i want to add some code on the click of every button, But I wished to know that which button has to be clicked by the user and after that some code will be executed and that code will be different for different buttons.
View 1 RepliesI would like to recreate the behaviour of a button or command button on an user control. I need to layout a group of this user control on a form so user can select only one at a time. When users click on one of this user controls a selection frame is drawn to indicate that it has been selected. The problem I have is clearing the selection frame when other control is clicked on. How do buttons or command buttons do this? If you layout a group of buttons only one is highlighted. I have tried using different events like LostFocus and Leave and nothing seems to work.

My btndisplay cost works, but my btnexitprogram does not close the application when clicked. I've ensured the button is correctly named and enabled. But when I click it does not close out, I use this simple code in other programs and it works.
I have a calculate button that, if clicked more than once adds the total of what I previously had to the new total as I am using a loop. I was thinking that I could get around this by only allowing the button to be clicked once, and if the user attempts to do this more than once a messagebox will appear saying that you can only calculate the price once and the form resets but i can't seem to get any code working.
