how can I get this .bat command to run after my button is clicked I can make it like, "Run a certain .bat when button is clicked" , but I don't want that because people can go inside my .bat and hack my IP. So I was wondering is there a way I can put that .bat command into my VB 2010 Express

I have a program that needs to see if it is already running and if so bring the other instance to the front and then close itself. I was looking for some better way of coding to populate all text boxes and make them visible once a button is clicked. I have a letter like format on a page with labels displaying address, name etc and it was recommended that on this page some of the information should be able to be edited. The idea I had was to keep the labels displaying the information but then when the edit details button is clicked the labels disappear, text boxes will appear and be populated with the same text as the label to allow the user to edit the details.
I seem to repeating lines of code but changing one thing each time on page load Dim Sname As String = Request.QueryString("Name") lblStuName.Text = Sname tbStuName.Text = Sname tbStuName.visible=false [Code] .....
On edit button tbStuName.visible=true tbAddress.visible = true etc..
On the save button sqlStatement = "UPDATE StuTable SET Name = '" & lblStuName.Text & "', Address = '" & lblAddress.Text My code seems very repetitive in many parts, I was looking for a better coding style to do this.
how to do array of textboxes when a user input a number of textbox to be loaded and when the button clicked, the array of textbox that the user enters will appear?
I'm trying to make a LAN IM client using the net send command and I was wondering if there is any way to capture the text of the messages received through net send and display them in a label.
I'm trying to do is make a program to where when you click an option, a text outputs for each button clicked, the general design looks like this:
That's just a beginning, since the whole rest of the thing will be the same concept pretty much, and what I want to have it do is, like stated earlier, once the option is chosen, a text output, like this:
I know there is an alternative to solving that, but it will take me 10x more time, and that is, creating a new textbox, setting the visibility to False, and typing what I want outputted in that text box, then putting: RichTextBox1 = TextBox1.Text
I know that works, and gives me my output, but I just wanted to know if there was any other way but that.
Dim IncomingCommand As String = e.CommandLine.Item(0).ToString
If IncomingCommand.Substring(0, 2) = "-1" Then
form1.close()
End If
End If
I am trying to make the program close if the -1 string is sent with the program. See my installer allows for me to run certain programs before it actually installs, but it doesn't shut down copies of the program itself. So I have a next startup instance set to shut the program down if the -1 is received. But if the program is not running it starts up instead. This is not desired. form1.close doesn't work. e.cancel = true doesn't work, etc etc. What can I do to make the program not start during this instance.
I want to run a dos command with a button and the output need to come in the outpud textbox.the only problem is that i need to give another option in the dos command, how can i do this? This is what i use. but how can i give the second command in that command that is already running?
Private Sub CMDAutomate2() Dim myprocess As New Process Dim StartInfo As New System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo StartInfo.FileName = "cmd" 'starts cmd window
For example I have 2 things in the listbox:Install Registry keyDelete filesIf I choose "Install Registry Key" then the button should install the registry key when clickedIf I choose "delete Files" then the button should delete files when clicked
First let me say that I am not sure whether or not this should go in this section or the API section, and if it needs to be moved I apologize. My issue is fairly straight forward, but for some reason I cannot get it to work.
I am trying to send a command to a command line and then submit the command. I have been trying without success to get this to work in v2008 Express and v2010 Express, Here is the code I am trying to us:

I would like some info on how to do a procedure. In my program when a user hits the Edit Command button I would like for the program to display a popup Textbox where he/she can input data and store it. Then the data will be linked to the comments box, once the user hits the save button. Also the popup textbox disappears after the user is done entering the data.
