Jun 12, 2012I have 3 PictureBoxes on a form that are tiled on top of each other. the form has a minimum vaule of (502, 416) and a maximum of (502, 1080). because the user can select from a MenuStrip to display '1', '2' 0r '3' PictureBoxes at once '3' being the bottom and '1' being the top PictureBox. What i need is when the user drags down the form it snaps to the next PictureBoxes position, so it goes down in blocks this is what i have so far which is pretty far from working.

I also thought i might be able to figure it out if i new how to create a variable like this

I know that it isn't the correct syntax but it's kind of the idea If you can make sense from my not so good description and point me in the right direction/code example i will be most grateful :)

Sep 5, 2009I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already.But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.

Mar 10, 2011I was looking for some better way of coding to populate all text boxes and make them visible once a button is clicked. I have a letter like format on a page with labels displaying address, name etc and it was recommended that on this page some of the information should be able to be edited. The idea I had was to keep the labels displaying the information but then when the edit details button is clicked the labels disappear, text boxes will appear and be populated with the same text as the label to allow the user to edit the details.
I seem to repeating lines of code but changing one thing each time on page load

Loading New Form When Button Clicked
Jan 28, 2010My Problem is that I have a form that when a button is clicked loads a new form - code below. I want to fill a list view with data from a database in columns but that isn't the problem: Whenever I run the program and try to open the new form, the program runs up to the Rec = Connection.execute line before going back to the first form where I opened it up.

Say I create a loop in a new thread and in that loop I using a blocking method to read data from a socket . I receive 255 bytes at a time, until all data has arrived. I want to pop this into one larger byte array after I have received it and whisk it off to somewhere else to do nasty things to it.

For now I just have it set to show the proper form (for example, Form3.Show) but when I try to do something like Me.Close() after it, everything closes instead of keeping Form3 open.

I'm adding a label, that will tell you if there's anything in your clipboard or not, but the problem with that is that I don't know how to make it check the clipboard all the time.I'm still a beginner, so I only know how to make the app do something when a Form has loaded up, or clicked etc., but how do I make it so it checks the clipboard when it has changed? If I can't do it, how do I make it so it checks the clipboard like maybe every second. Do I need to use threads (I'm not sure, because I don't quite fully understand threads).

I have built the whole Visual Basic project, but I am unable to do one part, the most important part you could say. I have a button (button1) on a form, when the button is clicked, I want it to run a program, named 'mover.exe' which is located in the SAME FOLDER that my visual basic program will run from. The directory of this folder will change. So, there are two problems I have:
1 - To make the program run the .exe program when button1 is clicked (it also must be run with administrative privileges).
2 - To make the program always look for 'mover.exe' in the folder in which it is started from.
