I have created a form in VB and have coded a Clear Form button into it. The issue I am having now is coding the 'Submit Form' button to have it email the completed form to 2 employees in the bank that I work at. The form will be uploaded to our server for other bank officers to complete and then submit.

The problem is, in order for the submit button to activate, you have to atleast type in 1 letter for it to update and make it send. The problem is when I do document.getElementById("p1").innerHTML= "SSSS" it works but it wont update the submit button to allow me to submit the form. What should I do?

So I want to just create a simple form that loads up on startup that says something like enter your name and email address before you can use our free software. Then when cmdSubmit is pressed it sends information to aweber in background and then form2 is presented. What is the best way to handle something like this? I know it's done with the httpwebrequest post but I've never tackled something like this and all examples.

I have a view with a few checkboxes that can be selected or unselected. I'd like to always register any change in a checkbox, without the use of a submit button (the user could forget to do it, and it would waste time). So, is there a way to handle this inside the view? I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already.But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.

My Problem is that I have a form that when a button is clicked loads a new form - code below. I want to fill a list view with data from a database in columns but that isn't the problem: Whenever I run the program and try to open the new form, the program runs up to the Rec = Connection.execute line before going back to the first form where I opened it up.

okay on my main form i created an instance of another form

I'm making an equation program and I want to have a main menu where the user can select an equation and then when one of the buttons is clicked, it closes the "selection" form and opens the appropriate form. For now I just have it set to show the proper form (for example, Form3.Show) but when I try to do something like Me.Close() after it, everything closes instead of keeping Form3 open.

View 5 RepliesI am creating a visual basic program, which acts as a very simple GUI for another program. I have built the whole Visual Basic project, but I am unable to do one part, the most important part you could say. I have a button (button1) on a form, when the button is clicked, I want it to run a program, named 'mover.exe' which is located in the SAME FOLDER that my visual basic program will run from. The directory of this folder will change. So, there are two problems I have:
1 - To make the program run the .exe program when button1 is clicked (it also must be run with administrative privileges).
2 - To make the program always look for 'mover.exe' in the folder in which it is started from.
The program is for users to submit their username by typing in their username and pressing the submit button. The username may be able to display on the Usernamelabel in form1.(I made the button on form2) I have problems coding to make the text to come out in form2.My code comes out as error.

I am currently working on a program in VB that is 480,600 and am using a panel with a picturebox inside of it so that I can use scroll bars to view a chart in the picturebox since my form will be so small. Since viewing a large chart is pretty irritating using scroll bars to some, what properties can I enable or disable to get the panel and picturbox to expand also when the Form Maximize button is clicked rather than staying the same size up in the top corner?

It is very annoying when user wants to close the form, but due to the validate event of the active control, it asks for the valid input. The user is forced to give valid input to close the form. I have a form containing a date textbox and a submit button and a close window button. The date textbox onblur calls a javascript function which checks for date validation and some other logic and displays some alert messages. The date on the textbox is always selected and onfocus. My problem is when I try to click the close window button with/without changing the date the alert messages from the onblur logic are displaying and I am unable to close the window. I tried using onchange instead of onblur but onchange too works when a control looses focus. it works fine when I donot change the date but when I change the date and hit the close window button it too displays the alert messages and the window does not close. Please suggest me what will be my best option.

Recently there was a request about sending bulk email which was building a potentially dangerous collection of answers which could lead to someone easily creating a spam engine. While there are legitimate reasons to send bulk email, one must be sure to follow all the applicable rules. This means following RFC 2821 and forming properly crafted email messages. In the US, it also means complying with fedral law regarding the sending of unsolicited email (express permission must be captured through direct user initiation e.g. user's must choose to check the box to receive your email), and that means including a removal instruction as well as valid contact information.
To that end, here is an example program for sending a mass email to a list of recipient addresses located in a database. The code only cares about recieving an array of DataRow objects, so any database for which you can fill a DataTable will work.
