Recently there was a request about sending bulk email which was building a potentially dangerous collection of answers which could lead to someone easily creating a spam engine. While there are legitimate reasons to send bulk email, one must be sure to follow all the applicable rules. This means following RFC 2821 and forming properly crafted email messages. In the US, it also means complying with fedral law regarding the sending of unsolicited email (express permission must be captured through direct user initiation e.g. user's must choose to check the box to receive your email), and that means including a removal instruction as well as valid contact information.
To that end, here is an example program for sending a mass email to a list of recipient addresses located in a database. The code only cares about recieving an array of DataRow objects, so any database for which you can fill a DataTable will work.
To run this example, simply place a Button on a Form and paste in the following code:

I have a requirements in "Windows form exe" that when we click on the exe, the data from the Oracle database should be exported to another Oracle database and also the data that has been exported should be emailed with excel attachments to intended recipents.
I searched but couldn't get the code as such and also i am not able to implement the functionality.
I am trying to Send an Email with an attachment (using Gmail) but I keep getting errors like "Operation Timed out" or Failure Sending Email". It was working earlier today but I found out that i needed to add Using statement because the email was having a file open that had to be deleted after it was sent but afterwards it doesn't work.

What I want is to be able to launch an email from VB in the same way that MAILTO: does from a browser. ie. it launches an email from whatever the deault client is.One of the posts on here (linked from the FAQ) mentioned to use MAPI, but the problem is that I can't figure out which 'imports' I need to use.
Googling around I can find lots of excamples of MAPI code, but none mention the imports. If I just paste the code into my VB form it just says that the names are not declared.Another post indicated that these weren't functions from an import, but rather I had to add a MAPI componant of some kind from the toolbox onto a form - but I can't find any MAPI things in the toolbox either...
I have created a form in VB and have coded a Clear Form button into it. The issue I am having now is coding the 'Submit Form' button to have it email the completed form to 2 employees in the bank that I work at. View 18 RepliesI've have found answers here frequently in the past just from browsing. But now I'm completely dumbfounded.
I'm using Visual Basic 2010 Express, on Win7 32bit. My application talks to an Arduino via a virtual com port provided by a cheap Bluetooth to serial adapter. I use a text based protocol that is working fairly well. BUT one method in my code, taht seems functionally equivvalent to the other methods is locking up my whole window.
It does this whether I'm debugging or running the exe.Below are the offending method, and a simmilar one defined above it that works with no problems.

If I comment out the cal to write, everything works fine. Aside from me setting some state bools and playing with button titles in the first method, I can't see the difference as to why one works fine and the other hangs.
I really hope someone has some experience in the SerialPort object and VB that can shed some light on this.I've tried everything I can think of. I thought maybe it was the inline concatenation, so I dim'd a local and assigned the string to it, and passed that to Write. But I have another method that uses inline concatenation that doesn't do this.

I'm trying to send a simple email via vb.net. This is the first time i've tried this and am getting the same message every time. I've looked everywhere with no answer... The host that i use is bluehost, and i know the port name and the client name and username and password are correct.
