I would like some info on how to do a procedure. In my program when a user hits the Edit Command button I would like for the program to display a popup Textbox where he/she can input data and store it. Then the data will be linked to the comments box, once the user hits the save button. Also the popup textbox disappears after the user is done entering the data.

View 4 RepliesI have an autocomplete textbox in vb.net. It is working fine, but now I need to pop up the window again when the user hits enter or double clicks. So far, I know that when the user hits enter, the keydown event raises with e.kecode = 13. I guess my code would go here. My problem is how do I tell autocomplete to start again after the user hits enter??

I would like to recreate the behaviour of a button or command button on an user control. I need to layout a group of this user control on a form so user can select only one at a time. When users click on one of this user controls a selection frame is drawn to indicate that it has been selected. The problem I have is clearing the selection frame when other control is clicked on. How do buttons or command buttons do this? If you layout a group of buttons only one is highlighted. I have tried using different events like LostFocus and Leave and nothing seems to work.
View 3 RepliesI have a ASP.NET VB form connected to a database. In the database, there is a field called TourCount. This count decrimates by 1 everytime a user submits a form.
When the TourCount reaches 0, all registrations must close. However, at the moment, TourCount continues to decrimate into negative numbers. When TourCount reaches 0, I would like a message to appear above the form saying "Registration Closed".
I have tried a few things, but I'm not sure where it's going. I don't receive a config error message, but it's never functioning correctly either. I'm not sure where or what type of script I should be using. My logic says, when TourCount is less than or equal to zero, display a text string via the id called "Message".[code]...

I am working on a simple program called "Who's Connected?" where it runs a command (netstat -aon) and then displays the results in a multi-lined textbox. However, when I press the button that will run the command, it tells me that it can't convert the string to an integer or something. And when I did manage to get it to convert to an integer, it really showed an integer in the textbox instead of the connections and IP addresses. What do I do? In my form, I have textbox + combobox to enter datas which are saved to ms access. I have search option too. Also i have DataGrid to show the result of the search. What I want now is, 1. To show the search result in the textbox/combox as well (I already am able to make the result show on datagrid)2. I am trying to create a vb.net program that will ask a user to input a beginning date and ending date within two textboxes. I want to use these dates that they inputed in a stored procedure that I created to run a query that will return results based on those dates.

However, I am not using a gridview so editing is not as simple as an edit within a gridview. The modal popup disappears when I click on the edit button. Here is what I have so far, but in the codebehind I get an error saying that my modal isn't declared.In the image below, the little pencil image next to the close button is what I click on to edit the description. When I click on it, the modal disappears, so I cannot edit the text.

I have a gridview that appears in a modal popup that is generated dynamically and is bound to a dynamically generated SqlDataSource. I did this to hopefully take advantage of the gridview's automatic editing capabilities. My problem is that when the edit button is clicked the modalpopup closes due to a full postback in spite of the fact that my gridview is in an update panel. I looked at solutions here and here but neither fixed the problem. I've also tried every combination under the sun regarding the positioning of the ModalPopupExtender in relation to the update panel etc, and have tried changing UpdateMode to conditional as well.

I am developing web application in which I used repeater to create a grid and I bind a link for edit page when user clicks on that link then ID of that specific record passed to that page and all relevant information extracted from database for that ID and displayed in text boxes. Now i have to use Popup for edit form what should i do now? i used Ajaxtoolkit model popup but unfortunately I did not get id of that link on which user clicks so that i can load data against that ID?

I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. View 1 RepliesI have an app that I'm using Form2 to display informaitonal messages without having the user to press the OK button. I DIM form2 as a new form as a global and then add a lable to it on the fly and then control it's appearance with a timer. This all works great providing the main form is being displayed however I can't make Form2 show up if the main form is minimized or hidden. I can get around this a bit by keeping the main form maximized but change it's Opacity to zero but once I do that I have no idea how to return the Opacity back to normal when I do want to see the form. Anyone have any ideas on how to make Form2 display if the main from is minimzed or how to control the Opacity of the main form so I can return things to normal? I was thinking that there might be something I could do with hovering over or clicking on the icon in the taskbar but I don't know what that event might be.

The app works fine in every detail when installed on the development computer. But, on the target computer when the command button is clicked an unhandled exception occurs which says: System.IO. I have a ton of airports listed in my Combo Box Right? They are displayed in the following format;
Airport Name (ICAO Code)
For Example
Kansas City Intl (KCI);
Since I have so many, Can someone provide me with a code i can use so in a textbox the user has to only put the icao code and it will display the airport.
For example
TextBox1.Text = KCI
Once that user has clicked out of the text box, It will seach the combo box for any values with KCI and will display it
So if textbox1.text = KCI, then combobox1.value = Kansas City Intl (KCI)
