2. calculate the total byte recieved and store it in a variable (s)

5. s2 represent the difference in an interval within 1 second is that a download speed ?
i test it with downloading some files from internet using mozilla firefox the values is so close to each other but is that the right way to measure the speed ???

Feb 5, 2011I created a software which download files from the web. I also added a progress bar which shows the download progress. Every thing works fine.
Now:
- How can I add a label that will calculate the time left for the file to be downloaded and another label that will tell the speed of the download?
- Would it also be possible to add a label which calculates the size of the file that is begin downloaded?

Basically the user inputs min and max values for a, b, c, and d and a constant n, and then it tries to find the curve/line in the form a (x/b + c) ^ n + d. However for large ranges (1-100 for a,b,c, and d; total of 100 million values to try), it would take around 100 minutes at the current rate (approx 800k values/minute). Feb 28, 2008currently writing a standard 3-tier (gui/business layer/data layer) winforms application in Visual Studio 2008.I have a form which has to load around 20 different sets of un-related data when it opens. My data layer returns seperate data readers to the business layer and each routine uses seperate sql connections (it opens them, gets a data reader, and then closes it).Now the problem i have is the speed the data is being retrieved. For a relativly small amount of data (around 100 rows of data combined) it's taking say 10 seconds to retrieve, parse into seperate collections and then paint to screen.My form is using controls from Infragistics and Component One and is quite heavy anyway
