a) Actual Height reduces by typically 3-5 pixels after redraw (but not 1 pixel per item).
b) PreferredHeight does not not appear to give the correct integral of item heights.
Is there a way to make ListBox calculate the correct integral Height before the ListBox is made visible, so it can be correctly pre-positioned from bottom edge?

I am having difficulty retrieving the correct PIN code from my database, for an ATM banking application. When someone enters a correct PIN code that is already in the database, they gain access to their ATM account. If incorrect, then a message box appears. I am having an unusual problem where, the system is partially working. The code I have, is preventing the user from accessing their account, in the correct manner, eg. message box pops up. However, it is also not accepting the correct PIN code. The most unusual thing about this, is that, if the user enters the number "1", the message box won't pop up, however it will still block the user from accessing their account. And even stranger again, after entering the number "1", trying it, then erasing it, if they enter the correct PIN after this, it will allow them to access their account.

The code is for a ASP.NET web service, when I click invoke on the website i get the error Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FOR'. If I remove FOR XML AUTO, ELEMENTS everything works find, db updates but I dont get the data to output as XML. I think the issue is with the brackets required for the insert values because this issue does not occur if the SQL statement is a SELECT statement which has no brackets but i just cant figure out the correct syntax?
I found a nice controls used by a software so wanted to use or build similar nice looking controls for my applications in vb.net. url...Yeah I tried enablevisualstyles but it didn't show any difference. Do i need to run other commands in conjucation with it? I found my program still displaying same old look but other one application showing office 2007 look.

I would like to scrape html pages that have some script running that usually executes the script to display a link after clicking. Some mentioned firebug and others talked about reverse engineering the code I need. But after trying reverse engineering I still dont see how to get the data after tracing the script function.[code]I am using vb.net and some sites were easy using firebug where looking at the script I was able to pull the data that I needed. There is no </p> tag so i cannot parse it completely. Now i have two questions :
1) can this be parsed using httpagility xpath ?
2) i have a function to find text between two strings (getbetween). But i have a doubt - If i use "asdasdasd" and " is it always 100% that vb.net will use the script tag which is just above h3 because there are 2-3 same lines - "asdasdasd"

View 5 RepliesI have a windows forms application that scrapes a website to retrieve some data. I would like to implement the same functionality as a windows service. The reason for this is to allow the program to run 24/7 without having a user signed in.
To that end, my current version of the program uses a web browser control (system.windows.forms.webbrowser) to navigate the pages, click the buttons, allow scripts to do their thing, etc. I cannot figure out a way to do the same without the web browser control, but the web browser control cannot be instantiated in a windows service (because there is no user interface in a web service).
I was amazed with how little documentation or examples are out there for checking the pagerank for a website using vb.net . I was hoping that someone might have some example code or other resources regarding how to do this (using toolbarqueries.google.com - not by scraping data from a 3rd party website).

The panel has all the settings for the application.How do i make it so when the mouse is not on it, it will side back, But it will leave a tiny pixel of panel still showing. But when the mouse is over that how would i make it slide back out?
