My boss has used VBA in excel to create an application and we have had problems deploying the application to various PCs. Errors occur during the execution and we have to address dll inconsistancies between PCs to make it run.
I have heard that it is possible to compile the VBA code with VB.net.
I can do this using VBA, but I want to be able to create the code using a compiled VB programme, which can then be opened in Excel.

We were advised to remove Windows update KB960715 which we did and it worked fine. However, it has just stopped working again for the same reason and that update is no longer installed.

How can I load the content of a C/C++(or any programming language) file into the 1st textbox and on clicking the compile button, i should be able to show the errors or the C/C++ program in the 2nd textbox. On clicking Run, I should be able to show the output in the 2nd textbox. In short, I want to use the 2nd textbox as a terminal/console. The radio buttons are 4 selecting the language C or C++ or python or C# or java or perl or vb.Are the compilers of all these languages present in .net? If so how can I call them?

If I place the buttons in the same form, I'm able of keeping the focus on the control that have the box, by using:cvsDisplayControl.focus()
I tried to compile the control with this instruction within the code, but I got a errors since this the display control is not part of the one that has the buttons. Something that can help me is a way to assign tha name of the display control in runtime or read it from a file so the control can be compiled ok.
I've been building tools for ArcGIS. Part of ArcGIS is toolboxes which is basically a collection of tools bundled together. I know how to make toolboxes, but the code I have runs within Arc itself - ie. currently it only runs when you actually start Arc up and run a tool which makes the toolbox.
In theory the code should be able to run outside of Arc and ideally I want it to run at compile time. I know you can run executables as pre and post build events when building the installer so I was thinking I could make it build the toolbox as part of one of these. Catch is, the executable code would need to have access to the compiled files of my project (it needs a link to each tool to build the toolbox) so I can't make the executable in a seperate project. The current project is a class library. Is there a way to run code within my project when building the installer?

Whenever I try to compile the code that I have written I get an error that says that I have an illegal character at the beginning of my code that is not there. This is the error the compiler is giving me:

I have a set of classes that mimics enums (see my other questions for specific details/examples). For 90% of my project, I can compile everything in at design time. But the remaining 10% is going to need to be editable w/o re-compiling the project in VS 2010. This remaining 10% will be based on a templated version of my Enums class, but will generate code at runtime, based upon data values sourced in from external configuration files.what my Enums class looks like. I am exporting data from vb.net to excel and it is dropping the leading zero when its displayed on excel. How can I avoid the dropping of leading zero? I read the solution of adding a single quote but it makes my excel sheet column ugly. Also users will complain if they see a single quote on zip code field.vb.net code

I have one excel sheet which has ontime event of 5 mins to run some code.This code works fine when in debugging mode. But if I lock my PC or minimize excel windows and start working something else, this code just pauses at beginning and as soon as I activate excel window, this code runs.this code involves opening and closing of one userform and i think userform is culprit.
