I dusted off VB.net, and now im trying to connect to a local FoxPro DB. Problem is, its not working. Ive been at this for about an hour or so, trying many misc things, but without any luck. [Code]. 'C:aaaCF21000.DBF' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides. Suggestions? That path is 100% valid, I can copy/paste that and open up the Database without error. I also tried other code I found on the web, some of them I cant even get them to run.

I think what I have here is an environmental issue. When I attempt to fill a dataset from a VFP table I am getting an error message that says "Index Not Found". The reason I feel its environmental is because the process was working perfectly fine last week. The client I am trying to run this program for runs it once per month to integrate one of their FoxPro systems with SQL. It's been in working order since November of last year, but suddenly now I'm getting this error. Some things I have looked at already are updating VFP drivers for both OleDB and ODBC.

I have a foxpro table <b> INVENT.DBF</b> linked in MS ACCESS. When I tried to do a search in the table from vb.net application, it is taking a long time. So I want to index the foxpro table and then use it for search.

As part of a larger application, I need to IMPORT (not link) a FoxPro 2.6 DBF into a Access DB.I toyed with using a Access MODULE and in the module, using the docmd.TransferDatabase method.I have looked for days at different samples and I cannot seem to find the answer.This application is intended to be distributed with NO ASSURANCE the user will have the FoxPro OLE driver installed. View 1 RepliesIn my app, I connect to a table to get the next unique id (t_IDs). The code basicly looks up a specific table name and returns the next value. This is fine in testing, but the application is going to be used between multipul sites. I can see an issue where this may cause the app to slow down while it waits the next id before saving all the data to another table.
My question is, Is there away to set a SQL trigger to go and get the next id value and update the record when a new record is created? BTW - I did look at the uniqueidentifier option (NewId()) but the Id is too long. I need 1,2,3,4 etc.

I adjust the querry to only return 1 row.So it looks like select * from table where ident=@realident..so the problem is i want to use a variable from the form to be the @realident and i want it to auto load when the form loads not have to type it into the tool bar like you have to do by default.Also once the data is returned I would like to be able to edit a field or two in that data and have it save back to the db.

I have a search page in my application where I am searching the database for the records that meet the specified conditions that the user selects. All of this works by creating the dataset, datatable, and dataadapter in the code. I then take a created bindingsource link it to the created datatable and then attach the bindingsource to my datagridview to display the results. Now what I am trying to do is to figure the Mean, Median, Mode and Standard Deviation of the results that were found above. My question is how to I run a select query on the code created table. I have the select query I want to use and when I try to use it in the code it talks about the connection. Now I have a dataset that is part of the project and I have the on just for the search page. Let me know if you need any code samples.

When I change a value in the description field, it changes in the DataGridView but the database never gets updated. Do I need to use code to force the changes to take place?Here's the code I'm using:
