Mar 2, 2012I am trying to convert my EnumerableRowCollection into a DataTable, but I can't see the CopyToDataTable method. The enm.CopyToDataTable() has the blue saw tooth line under it with error saying " 'CopyToDataTable' is not a member of 'System.Data.EnumerableRowCollection' ". I have set a Reference to System.Data, System.Data.Linq, and System.Data.DataSetExtensions. I thought the CopyToDataTable method was part of the System.Data.DataSetExtensions, right? Anyone know why I can't access this method?

May 19, 2010I have multiple datasets that I would like to combine into one. There is a common ID field that can be associated to each row. Calling Merge on the dataset will add additional rows to the dataset, but I would like to combine the additional columns. There are too many fields to do this in one query and therefore would make it unmanageable. Each individual query would be able to handle ordering to ensure the data is placed in the correct row.
For Example lets say I have two queries resulting in two datasets:
SELECT ID, colA, colB
SELECT colC, colD
The resulting dataset would look like
ID colA colB colC colD
1 a b c d
2 e f g h

This dataset underlies a form and conventional drag/drop controls are in place for data entry.when the event triggers and runs, I am running code in the form that checks the dataset.HasChanges property. It is showing False. But this is immediately after the ColumnChanging event has been triggered.Okay, I see by others posts and MSDN that .HasChanges will only be true after moving off the row with the changed column. I have also noted lots of discussion about the advanced binding property of DataSourceUpdate Mode, but that does not address this issue.I guess I can do this by checking the state of the row for the binding source. Just seems odd that the event behind the dataset can be triggered and that does not change the dataset.HasChanges property.

Oct 6, 2011I have a datatable property called prpParametersTable in a class called clsBatch. I have a procedure that sets a datatable variable called dtP equal to prpParametersTable at the beginning of the procedure. I then add three new columns to dtP.Here is my problem. When I add the three new columns to dtP my original table prpParametersTable also gets those columns added to it, why? I only want to add the three columns to dtP and not prpParametersTable. How can I do that?

My question is confusing and I am not good at explaining things so I drew a picture (see below).I have two datatables on memory and I need to create the third datatable using the second mapping table for reference. Sep 1, 2011I currently have a datagridview that is built from a datatable So lets say we have 6 columns
A B C D E G
So the users will select there data from another program and paste into the the table. So lets assume that the data that is pasted is; (the column names are automatically put in)

123 456 789 101 112 134
So the table will now look like following (I remove the first row because its the same as the column name)
A B C D E G
A B C D E G
123 456 789 101 112 134
My problem is that the users can rearrange thier tables(column index) so lets say user A has the table in this format
A B D E C G
123 456 101 112 789 134
So when they paste into the program, it will look like
A B C D E G
A B D E C G
123 456 101 112 789 134
So now "C" "D" "E" are incorrect and i need to swap those columns to be the same as the column name. I'm not sure how to attack this problem.My thoughts were to paste the data as is, than see what the first row in each column equals.so if it equals "A" assign it an index 0

This seems theres too many steps and will slow down the app...
