I need to convert fdf files to pdf in asp.net using vb. I found some code that I'm trying to learn from. What I would like to do is upload the fdf file and then output a pdf to a directory and email it out. The fdf files are coming from a shared linux/php host (using the php fdf functions is all I can do here on this host) that are emailed to a central inbox. I'm going to pick up the files from the inbox and upload them to a win/asp.net box to convert to pdf.The code i found is below.
* Dim pdfFlat As New MemoryStream() * Dim pdfReader As New PdfReader(context.Request.MapPath(pdfFormFileName)) * Dim pdfStamper As New PdfStamper(pdfReader, pdfFlat) * ' bind fields from fdf... * Dim fdfReader As New FdfReader(context.Request.InputStream) * Dim pdfForm As AcroFields = pdfStamper.AcroFields *

I have a GridView which is programatically filled from the DB (not a SqlDataSource or such). There are 4 columns which are TemplateFields as I format their text. They are Dates and Times and this is the one of their TemplateField:[code]'ve been using the method in this Post which was converted to VB code from this to convert the GridView to a PDF using iTextSharp. My issue is that I'm getting a Null Reference exception here when adding the GridView data to the PDF(inside the For Loops):[code]These Date/Time columns show up as empty on the PDF while all other columns show up with no issues.

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

I'm currently trying to extract an image from a pdf file using iTextSharp.
The pdf is made from a scanner: it has a single page that contains one big image.
When looking at the file I find the following:
<< /Type /XObject /Subtype /Image /Name /Obj3 /Width 2480 /Height 3507 /ColorSpace /DeviceGray /BlackIs1 true /BitsPerComponent 1 /Length 5 0 R /Filter /CCITTFaxDecode /DecodeParms << /K -1 /Columns 2480 >> >> stream
[Code].....
But, that doesn't work as I get one big black tiff file with different shades of gray on top.
Does anyone know a way how I can decode those CCITTFaxDecode images?

I need to create a PDF drawing of our products with dimensions filled in, based on template files. After the user selects the proper template file for the desired product, a window should pop up that prompts the user for the necessary dimensions, such as width, length, etc. Then the program would fill in all the fields on the template form with the proper values. Some fields would just be filled with the exact values that the user enters in, but other fields may require a calculated value based on the entered values. ie. Overall width = nominal width + 6. So somehow I need to figure out how to make the template hold the equations. Can anyone offer me some guidance on how to make this work the way I described? Can iTextSharp determine if a PDF file has fields in it? Can it loop through all the fields & get the field names?

I am trying to make a simple program to convert ascii in its code format
Example: Chr(53) & Chr(53) & Chr(54) & Chr(100) & Chr(52)
to a readable format. I understand that this can be easily accomplished by writing in the ascii code into the code will do it but I am trying to create a more interactive method of doing it so I can copy and paste a long length of code into a textbox and have it update a label with the conversion.

My app generates a HTML report, and I'd like to convert it into PDF file.I'm looking for an automatic process where I can ask the user to specify a filename and then he gets a PDF file, fully automated.
If you know for a free and legal component that I can use in my app and deploy it, please let me know.
I have two technical requests for the PDF converter:
1. Be able to save the hyperlinks as-is (so the user can click on it from the PDF file)
2. Be able to save all colors and images, including the background image that is part of the HTML report.

using vb.net, i have a richtextbox in my application. i would like to have the emphasis to have an html tags.for example /b this is a test /b0 would be this is a test and it's simple, but the most difficult part for me is when the words have 2 emphasis /b/i this is a test /b0 /i0 the output becomes this is a test this will have an error in parsing. then output should be this is a test.

For one of my projects I need to make PostScript files available for viewing online, My goal is to convert these PostScript files to HTML. I'd like to do it all in VB.NET code and in-memory stream and without using command-line programs. I think a perfect solution might be to write the PostScript to a stream, and simultaneously read the output stream to HTML file before writing it to a DB.
