See the picture below:We've tried looking through all of the properties of the DataGridView control, and found some interesting things that looked promising such as the DataGridViewAdvancedHeaderStyle, and DataGridViewHeaderBorderStyle, but none of it seems to allow you to change the colors on it.Does anyone know how to do this without remaking the entire thing with a GDI+ control?

Feb 13, 2009I have a FlexGrid control in my Windows application that contains a row of data. The data in this row is related to even more data that won't all fit on the same row. For Example:The main data row contains Username, Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, E-mail Address, Phone Number, etcA secondary row to this might contain user permissions to certain resources, such as File Server Access, FTP Access, Remote Access, etc.Now, I can use the subtotal and outline capabilities of the VSFlexGrid to make a second row, but the column widths are still bound by those set for the main data row. Additionally, I can't put real "headers" on the supplemental data. I have to fake it by creating an additional row, setting the background color of that row to gray, putting the header strings into those fields, and then adding the next row with the actual details.
What I would like to do is create separate grids for these secondary rows and "embed" them in a blank row of the existing FlexGrid control directly under the related main data row. This would give me the ability to use a different number of columns, to format these columns independently of the "parent" FlexGrid settings, as well as put a new header row for the new grid that identifies its data.In other words, I'd like to somehow make a "child" grid that's related to a particular row of the "parent" grid (not the entire grid itself). I don't know if this is possible, and if there is another way for me to accomplish this goal, I'm all ears. However, if it IS possible, I'd love some advice on how to implement it.
Javascript - Button Click Event On Modal Popup, Inside A Grid-view Not Firing
Jun 10, 2012I have a asp grid with a few columns that bind to data. The last column has been converted to a template-field. In this template-field is a button with a modal popup extender attached to it. Hidden inside this field is a modal popup. This modal popup is used to add a new account. it contains 2 text boxes, drop down lists and buttons("Add" and "Cancel"). When "add" is clicked the modal should close after the inserting of the new account in the code behind.
The Problem: I get the popup to display and load the Drop down lists from the cache, without problem. How do I get the button click event to fire in the code behind. I've tried using a JavaScript function that performs a _doPostBack('btnAddAcc','') but it keeps returning the error "JavaScript error: Object expected". I gathered after about 1 hour on Google that it is because "btnAddAcc' is not found because it is actually within the grid-view cell and can't be directly accessed. Using page methods and ajax calls is a last resort as the company has a strict policy against this and only allowes this after a bunch of paperwork.

The student grid view has many columns like client_no, student_name, date_of_birth, address, etc. There are over 100000 students so I will need to filter the student grid view to find the correct student to enroll in the course. Once they are found, the user selects them and somehow moves them to the enrolled grid view. If a student drops out then they would be removed from the enrolled grid view.This process needs to be easy to understand and use. Are there any examples available or other suggestions on how to do this?

Data Grid Inside A Tab Control ?
Apr 25, 2010I have a form allowing user to search details of employees. the form allows users to key in 7 search criteria. the results of this search open in a new window. employee details (data) are of following 3 types: personal details contact details additional details
I want to achieve the following with the results window the new window that opens to show the search results has a tab control with 3 tabs for displaying the results for each of the above categories. hence the three tabs would be personal details contact details additional details each tab would display the required data in a datagridview control. on adding the datagridview directly to the tabpages of the tabcontrol the window does not resize to the size of the datagridview that is displayed. i understand that the property AutoResize is not applicable to a tabcontrol or a tabpage, hence 1 added a panel to each of the tabpages and then added the datagridview to it.
However, even this does not help and the results window is still does not resize to the size of the datagrdiview. i have set the AutoScroll property of all the tabpages to, AutoResize of the datagridview and results window all to True. How to do this as the results widow does not rezise even to the size of the tabcontrol that i have added and the tabcontrol ends up with scroll bttons in the window.

Mar 8, 2011I need to display (read-only, I don't want the user to be able to modify the data) a set number of log entries. I figured using the data grid view would be the best solution. Basically the data is an error log that contains 3 fields (columns)
ID (a number from 1-20), Flag (number from 0-255), and a Description (string). I don't want the data linked to any database or anything.
These events occur asynchronously so I need to be able to add events (rows) to the data grid as they occur.
I also need the ability to clear all events (rows).
I guess the first question is if the data grid view is the best control in VB to use.
Is there a good example on using the data grid on how to add data to the data grid view one row at a time?

If someone I can do the second part.I have two text files, one is a single dimensional array, and one is a two dimensional array. One titled "Months.txt" and the other "Rain.txt".The problem is I have to read those into an array, and then after that, use a query to pull the information and display it into a data grid view style box.The problem I'm facing is when I pull the "Months.txt" text file, which has the months in order from January....December, and try to display it in the data grid it puts the length of the names of the months, not the actual months. me on this matter? I've tried to no avail. Also, how would you add all of the numbers in a single row of a two-dimensional array to give a total to display in the data grid? Also, the column?
