Sorting Using Combo Box Text Box & Data Grid

This is the Kind of sorting I want to do...to select different fields and click the button search to display info in the data grid.Also is not a must that i must fill all field to sort...i might choose 2 or 3 field and do my sorting by clicking the search button. The combo box contains all the fields in my database. (E.g My Screen shot display how it look like)Below is my snap shot of my page i uploaded.Please comment any CODE provided along with the combo box and text box and the search field.

basically i had to write a program where a user enters the amount of countrys taking part in the Olympics and enters there medals. i should then be able to sort the country's out with the best country being the one with the most amount of gold meals. my problem is its not sorting it out and oping someone could help. i also have a problem where i automatically want the program t work out the total by it self and don't know where to put it.

I have been trying to create an application that will read in the contents of a text file, sort the contents, add together any similar Client-Matter codes (based on the first two field values) and then create a new text file with the summarized results. [code]The first two fields can be treated as one field for sorting purposes. The two 403049,000017 lines would add together the last field, and use the most recent date in the newly created file.For some reason, I can not get the new file with the results created. I added messageboxes throughout the code to see where I am going wrong - they tell me where the program is going. They seem to point to me that everything is working but still, no export file.[code]

I'm using Visual Basic Express 2008 and I need to upload and sort two data text files (notepad) in a listview box. It doesn't have to be a listview box I chose that because it has nice options for columns. Anyway I've got the code set up to open the dialog box and allow the upload of multiple files. I've also got it set up to show separate columns, movie titles and box office amounts, titles in one file box office amount in the other. What I nee sorting the data once it's uploaded so the movie titles show in one column and the box office amounts show in another. Currently everything is showing in the left most column. I'd like to be able to represent the data seperately also so I can format the dollar amounts into currency. Here's what I've got so far:

I have a text box filled with lines of names. What I would like to do is divide the text box into 3 different data grids using two different methods (one button for each)Method one: divide the test box by line number into 3 different data grids e.g. lines 1, 4, 7, & 10 go to datagrid1, lines 2, 5, 8 & 11 go to datagrid2 & lines 3, 6, 9 & 12 go to datagrid3.Method two: divides the group into 3 groups based on top 33% go to datagrid1, middle 33% go to datagrid2 and the the remaining 34% (bottom) go to datagrid3.The number of lines in the text box should never exceed 50 but best left not limited just in case.

I have a datagridview control that where I need to color the rows based on a value in one of the cells in each row. I'm using the CellFormatting event like so: [code]This works fine when the grid loads and when I scroll it, etc. But when I click on the column headers to sort the grid, e.Row Index is always zero and all of the rows get the formatting of the first row..[code]For some reason, e.RowIndex is set correctly here but not on the other methods. The only thing you have to worry about here is it can be -1. But when I tried to use other methods, including PrePaint, I had to deal with it always coming up zero on a sort. If I exclude the zero case, like I excluded the negative one case about, then the first row is always white!!! I'm not sure why this works, but it does. It also produces no flicker beyond what I got using the CellFormatting event.

This allows me to sort by the primary Author, Series, Episode, and Title.
In my application I house the data in a DataSet and then use a DataView to reference it in a Grid.
I'm using VS2005, VB.NET, and I have two questions:
1) How do I replicate the Sort I'm using in my XSLT?
2) How do I pull the primary Author up to the Book level so that it can be displayed in the Grid?

I have a combo box and a property grid in a form. The combo box contains 2 items. If one item is selected, two properties are listed in the property grid. These properties should have a dropdown that contains a list of items. I have two string arrays that contain the values for these properties. Can I use one TypeConverter that inherits StringConverter for these lists to be displayed in two different properties? That is, with one TypeConverter class, can I populate both the lists? I will also have to do the same with the other items in the combo box.

I have designed my form like this it has a combo box and several text boxes. In the form load I want to load the customer IDs of my customer table into my Combo box.Customer IDs data type is varchar and this part is working in my form.The next thing that I want to do is if a user select a single user ID from the combo box I need to display the first name last name and there are several fields of that selected customer id in the text boxes.If anyone can help me in this it'll be a great help.I have designed my data base in sql server 2008 and I'm using visual studio 2008.I added a new sqldata adapter and I created the data set.But I want to know how to pass the selected id of the combo box as the select parameter of sql statement and how to bind data to the text boxes.

This is a VB .NET application where we are showing the output of a SQL statement in a Datagrid view. using .NET 2005.We need to get the seperators of the headers on the grid control to be the same colors as the GridColor on the form. See the picture below:We've tried looking through all of the properties of the DataGridView control, and found some interesting things that looked promising such as the DataGridViewAdvancedHeaderStyle, and DataGridViewHeaderBorderStyle, but none of it seems to allow you to change the colors on it.Does anyone know how to do this without remaking the entire thing with a GDI+ control?
