I am trying to create a new thread using an anonymous function but I keep getting errors. Here is my code:

Here are the errors I get:
New - Syntax Error
End Function - 'End Function' must be preceded by a matching 'Function'.

I realize that I can't force an anonymous type into a specific type (like implementing an interface or some other class), and I don't want the overhead of defining a specific class just to match my desired fluent name with the actual method name. So I was able to make the code work like this:
copy(my_first_file).to.Invoke(my_second_file)So there is no IntelliSense or type awareness there, and I have to include the Invoke in order to have the method run. How can I get more type safety and exclude the Invoke method, under these constraints: Anonymous Type returned from Method No additional classes or interfaces Preferably, I do not want to pass in another parameter to the copy() method that tells what type to return, unless copy becomes a generic method (but I think that means defining another class/interface, which I don't want to do)

In my gridview I have fields for inserting a new record in the footer.In my objectdatasource selecting event if no records came back I bind a single mock row to force the footer to show so they can still add records. Since the row does not contain real data I hide the row.

This compiles fine, but the row doesn't get hidden. why my anonymous function isn't getting hit?
After reading this post i realized that i cannot pass an anonymous type as a parameter to a function. So what other options do i have?
Perhaps, passing a Query.ToList as parameter would help, or am i re-inventing the wheel?

There are two ways to create methods on the fly. Through Anonymous method and through Lambda expression (relevant for C# language as far as i know). Though there is not much difference between them. How to create Anonymous methods in VB.NET ?

I dont understand how I can pass data to the function if I want to run it as it's own thread.
I have a couple of threads running. One is a trigger which picks up a system event, the other processes stuff. When the trigger picks up the event I want it to notify the processor thread to do stuff. The threads are both started within the same class and can access the thread-object of the other thread. How do I set up the function call though?

Now that I got about 100million entry it takes a few mins to upload.I worked with threading before but now I want all my threads to access this function that will give them a string. Now here is the problem, if 2 or more thread access the function at the same time, it will crash.How can I by pass that?I read about SyncLock. Can I use SyncLock on my function on each thread?

Each TB only was accessed for the correspondent thread, and for the "main program".
This is the error message I am getting:
"Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'Panel1' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on." The reason I am getting this error is because I am opening up a new form and then calling these three things:
Panel1.Show()
Label1.Show()
Label2.Show()
why I get this error message because it doesn't occur normally if I open Form2 after closing Form1, it only occurs when I open Form2 after closing Form4.

My understanding is that thread.join will suspend the execution of code on the calling thread until the spawned thread finishes or is aborted...
With that in mind, I tried this:

However, the rest of the code runs when the loop finishes, not waiting for all the spawned threads to finish. Since the rest of the code needs the threads to finish (otherwise the rest will error).

i used it and it works fine then. but as it is mentioned its not a good practice to use it. So what should i do? is it ok if i use this as i am not able to use correct practice. Mine application is not for enterprise purpose. its just my class project, and it works fine even if i put application working in background. System works ok. I dont know how to correct this error.As i dont have that much knowlege of threads.
